Wink Latest e-scrap break-through and garage sale adventure...

I found a local computer guy that works from home who will buy all of my "newer" computer cases for $5-$10 each!! That SURE makes it easier to bid on them and buy them for $5 each...

Also went garage sale shopping(all within 5 miles of my house) this weekend and bought a Dell computer for $5, just had to remove the hard drive for the lady. Took it home and plugged it in and it booted up or whatever to the Bios so I threw it on Craigslist. Sold it today for $25, must've been too low on the price, but it SURE beat scrapping it!

Bought a sandwich bag of 1 and 2 gig working laptop and desktop ram for $5. Then bought a plastic bag FULL of ram from another guy for a dollar. Seriously, I weighed it out at 2# 13.5 oz and it was A DOLLAR. Best part of that is that there are a lot of working 512 desktop ram that I should be able to sell on Craigslist along with the other 1 and 2 gig ram that I bought for 5 bucks.

Came home with a few nice pieces of antique brass and copper and a few tools I was lacking, and all in all only spent $13.25. I should make out like a bandit on this stiff.

It was by far my best garage sale adventure yet. I am now a believer in spending a few hours each Saturday as long as they are close to home.

Yeah, I need to get back to those garage sales. Been hard getting up in the morning. You either have to hit them as soon as they open, or show up as they are closing when they are ready to make deals.

    Nice scores!

My first garage sale I went to when I started scrapping I picked up a tower,50 lbs of extension cords, 300 lbs of motors of 10 bucks. Love the garage sales and usually target the ones that are listed as estate sales. They usually don't put out the stuff they consider "garbage". I usually aske to go into the basements to look around. I get funny looks but I have been told in the past that I can take whatever I want for 10-20 bucks. Also look for ones that are listed as "hoarders house". These are always full of stuff to scrap and at low prices. Nice pick up scrappinred.

Determine never to be idle. No person will have occasion to complain of the want of time who never loses any. It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.

hahaha... well in my defense Hypoman, these guys set their own prices on this stuff. I'm so glad I let them speak first because a dollar would NOT have been my first offer on almost 3# of ram...
