    computer power supply

Got a question regarding computer power supplies. Will your local yard take them as copper bearing breakage? Mine dont. Still got another yard to ask, but rest said no. And its not worth breaking down, so trying to figure out what to do with the bloody things lol.:>?

I dont see any point in paying 50c shipping for 15-20c lb..lol.

I usually just clip the wires as close as I can get to the base and sell the supply as shred. I haven't found a yard around that takes them as anything else. There are some forum members that will buy them clipped if they within driving range.

When I first started scrapping I opened all my power supplies and got the boards and sinks...I learned real quick that it is a time consuming / low reward project. Not to mention all the dust in there about killed my allergies....

    Cheers,
    Tom

I've always sold mine to an e-waste buyer and seem to get more if I leave the wires and plugs on.
