Congrats on the win. You will know soon if it was a good idea. I know that feeling, I have won just two auctions so far. The good news is you know how to break the stuff down and you have a couple of good buyers. The hotel room may be the only limit you have. Best of luck with this deal, Mike.

After the check from this haul you gonna be doing really good i figure. Probably best just go get a storage unit right now. you are not going to want all those bugs in ur hotel room. I just killed a black widow and a few giant wolf spiders from pile computer parts. Stack the CRTs against the back wall and towers towards the front. that way you have plenty of money to cover what you had to pay for the auction and storage unit. 100% guarantee that pile has something deadly waiting for you be careful lol.

Those piles are what dreams are made of lol

The biggest black widow spider I have ever met was in Ca. Do what he said be careful. Mike.

Yikes! I didn't even think about the spider/bugs that could be living in there... I'm thinking that if I get the trailer that I want then when I get back I'm going to throw a couple of those bug bomb fogger things in there and cover the top with a tarp. Finding dead bugs is better than being attacked by live ones.

There was a thread on this subject awhile back. People bringing E-scrap into the home to break down and getting infestations of creepy crawlies.

I noticed the pile you won is sitting outside, for who knows how many years. You very well might have a few critters along for the ride home!

I don't see anywhere in the listing that the seller expects the buyer to clean up, other than haul ALL of it away (E-scrap) and not cherry pick the good stuff.

Bomb them anyway you can before they get home and still wouldnt bring a single one into my home. Hell i just had a roach hotel tv sitting on the side of my house for 2 days before i figured out which one it was. Now i am battling getting roaches off my property and out of my house. Because once they are near they will come. And the pile of computers is what i mean. Once you get some pictures ill hype you up some more.

Maybe I'm just being paranoid but I opted to pay with a credit card and it said to go through the seller directly. I sent him a message letting him know that i planned on picking the stuff up next weekend and got a message back saying that I could give him the cc info over the phone if i wanted and that he would give me the number of the lady who has the computers and i could set the time up with her directly. Should I worry about this? I'm new at this whole ebay thing and I'm not sure if this is normal or not.

I sure wouldn't give my CC # to an ebay seller.

I'd recommend being careful with the whole deal here Julie. If he can't accept paypal ask him to wait till you pick the stuff up for cash, or you could mail him a USPS post office money order, which has a built in fraud protection. That pile of stuff I looked at hasn't been there long, it would have rain splatters and grass grown through if it had. He listed it as Computers, Printers, Monitors? was it? In that order? I'd expect Computers to be the main ingredient then. Nowhere in the description does it state that old wood boxes and tires are a part of the deal. It also says the guy died "before he could start"? recovering/recycling whatever, if anything is stripped already that can't be true, and the boxes i could see looked empty(but I'm 2000 miles away) I'd proceed with caution here Julie, maybe not even rent the trailer/truck until you've seen it close up(surely you can rent a one way from there to home for not much more than two way rental, and it could just save you any rental at all. Maybe locate a rental near there online before you go, so it will be ready when you get there and have seen the items) I like to trust people too, Julie, but these days it gets incredibly difficult to do
