Thinking of going for this auction.

    Greetings everyone,
Most of my scrapping experience comes from HVAC equipment, but I have been debating getting in the ewaste side of things.

The auction im looking at closes tomorrow. It has a few seperate lots, the ones im considering bidding on will be a total of 90 towers and 5 servers. The current bids are $140.

I would also have to drive a 3hr round trip if my bids are successful.

So my question is how much should my max bid be inorder to make a decent roi?

Here is a description of one of the lots.

20 - P4 1.8 GHz ASUS P4XP-X Motherboard 1GB RAM 40GB HDD CD-ROM 1.44 MB Workstation with XP HOME OEM sticker. Working condition. Hard drive has been wiped to DOD specs.

With that much of a drive I wouldnt pay more then $4 a tower and $8 for the servers. That is if your talking straight scrap value and not resale. My opinion.

I'll bet those 90 towers go for over 900. Their looking at resale,

If it is like most of my auctions the computers will go for $20-$40 each. You have to find older computer auctions in which the re-sellers / out-of-country shippers are not interested in for scrap. Good luck.

Where does one find those out-of-country shippers?
