Gold trace circuit board

What a find! I ripped apart a dead tapeless measuring calculator and the circuit board had many gold contact and connectors on it so just for the heck of it I took a knife and scraped off some of the green shellac on the traces and found that they were gold instead of copper like most boards. And not just gold plated. I really dug into them deep and all they did was flatten out more. Now what is it worth?

The board is only about 2.5 X 3 inches. In the first pic you can see where I scraped the green off just to the right of the IC. In the second pic I scraped it off on the top left corner.

Sweet! The pin pad I tore apart last night also had the same thing on one side of it! Do you have a gold test kit?

I have a lot of those boards...from keypads...did you find it was gold by testing it?

No test kit
But in the 80's I worked as a tech in a computer resellers shop and I heard about gold trace boards but never found one. I have been scraping board traces shellac off ever since looking for gold. On this one I started scraping from the gold finger edge connector and instead of gold plate to copper under the green it stayed gold so I'm almost certain it solid gold traces. I'm going to cut one of the traces off with an exacto knife and and see whats on the bottom side of the trace.

Yes you were right. I started by doing a process of elimination of the gold layer and ended up with a very thin copper layer. That does make sense though, how could one put soft gold traces on a board without a sound base metal.
I think I may try gold recovery on this one myself. Researching Gold recover is how I found this forum from the start.
All because, after all these years I stripped out and old AST Advantage piece of sh1t and it had an original P75 dual gold cap in it.

Just to give you a good idea get about 20 pounds of rich material before you even bother. otherwise your time will feel cheated.

Also look into getting the copper recovered to that's where the real money is.
