I don't ship my drives or anything besides boards, I get 0.20/lb on disk drives and dirty alum for hard drives, I strip the boards off of them all and throw the boards in a box to be shipped later. It takes a lot of drive boards to make it worth it.

The floopy boards are low grade. If they are brown on one side. Cut the IC chip off and break the pins off. Worth alot more to take them off. The board just put it in your low grade pile.

Who are you going to sell your low grade boards to? I'm looking for a low grade board buyer in our area.

Cd and dvd boards are the same in my opinion. The one that is different is the 3 1/2" floppy drive and its board is brown(at least on one side). Those I break the connector off and put them in with the other gold connectors. I think you guys are confusing cd drive and floppy drive. Mike.

These are listed as a peripheral board on another site.

I have seen a few CD-ROM boards that don't have much on it in terms of electronics. HOWEVER, most of the ones that I take apart look like the one above, or even have more circuitry. I don't know why they don't pay even half as much for cd-rom boards as they do hd boards. Look above and below. The CD-ROM boards may be bigger and have the electronics spread out on the surface more, but it's got the same 40-pin IDE and usually the same if not more flatpacks, and more connectors for ribbon cables (most of the ones i disconnect have 2 or 3 of the thin ribbon cables).

    These are hard drive boards:

I have wondered the same thing. But I just throw my cd/dvd boards in with mother boards. I however pull the pins out of the floppy drives I have sold pins for as much as 125 a pound.
