Renew your ads as often as they'll let you, my Freecycle is titled computers and appliances for recycling, as it's more local, the CL one is aimed primarily at computer equipment in my area, since it's posted in a large area. After maybe 2 months I've had one offer from FC, but not got the pickup call yet, and the CL gets hardly any bites at all, until last week, got an email saying their company was doing a clean-up and wondered if I'd pick up some large copiers and 5-10 computers plus other odd stuff, but they were over 100 miles away. I emailed several times with them that day but wasn't sure it would pay for itself or not, still decided to go, came home with a 4x10 trailer filled with 2 washing machine sized copiers, 9 towers, 4 CRT monitors, some smaller but heavy duty printers and fax machines, and 6 or 8 keyboards- one is an old IBM clicky key which alone will one day pay the $30 cost of gas for the trip. They even helped me load itA couple of the computers are vintage and might make some parts sales on Ebay, one tower was a P4 and one P3 1000 which I'll keep for at least a while, along with one or two of the monitors. I'll check out the P4 and maybe set it up for a local sale. Still haven't dug into the copiers to see what parts might be salvaged from them. There was a lot of plastic in that load though which I'll have to find a way to deal with. That one CL ad finally brought a call that will pay for any time and cost of the trip. I did forget to mention telecom and network equipment to them, which might have made the load a bit better, since they had just done a major cleanup.
