That is true. Always a possibility.

However, you are just showing some harsh love towards it. Just have to hit it hard enough to knock it loose. I used to be real careful, but since the only option I have for them is the landfill, I just swing, take the goodies, and call it done.

hoss, not arguing with you but aluminum here is generally from. 45 to .70 /lb

    they do add up.

although if you use something other than a small sledge I would agree.

Different states have passed laws that electronics cannot go to the landfill, Federal EPA already covered it. I think the fines are around $10,000 and up per offense. I don't think I'd be bragging on a public forum about throwing them away, you never know who's reading your posts.

PS. Especially in New York,,, whew, their one of the worst communist states.,
Not bragging at all. Just stating my job, there is multiple code enforcers driving around all day everyday. Maybe they have blinders on?

Right. I guess, for me, it has to do with quantity. I get thousands a month. The RCA TV's with aluminum cones are not worth the hassle. I tell my employees to not bother with them. That time could be spent breaking down other TV's.

If you only go threw say, less than 100 a month, i could see saving up the aluminum from them.

I guess it all boils down to, "time is money".

I could definitely see your point for sure.

If I had the space, and someone who would take the plastic and glass, other than the landfill, I could make good money from any TV. Unfortunately, where everyone else on here lucks out with Goodwill, Salvation Army, Best Buy, etc. Only place that will take them in any condition period, is the landfill.

Not true. It's being proposed in New York City. Doesn't affect the whole state. Yet.

The fact that it's being proposed should bother any one. The government has been far too overbearing for far too long.

Thanks for this info, I've been wondering that kind of metal the clamps are, b/c they don't stick to my magnet.
