I'd check first before signing a lease, everyday seems Like more and more laws and regulations are added to curb metal theft which usually does little except punish the honest ppl who are doing right anyhow. Some day these regulations are going to choke the life out of this industry. Ok I'm sorry got on a bit of a rant there.

sometimes it's easier to beg forgiveness than ask permission....

    here are all the rules:
NJDEP Solid & Hazardous Waste: N.J.A.C. 7:26 Rules

link to universal waste handler activites form (consumer electronics) http://www.nj.gov/dep/dshw/lrm/uwaste/uwhandler.pdf

and your town may have a local ordinance or two.

You might find there are far fewer rules concerning an online/mail order business for used electronics & appliances

You can get into some serious fines if you don't check first with ALL town people AND county people. That will include the local hazmat and fire company. Then there is the insurance company.... and a few local palms to grease....and etc.

Good luck and document everything. Don't bother with phone calls, get it all in writing.
