HAHA, i am reminded of a time when the guys in the yard decided to unload a truck full of nails at the pile. The boxes busted and nails were everywhere. You can imagine how many tires go punctured. UGHHHH.

I have never had any problems with this at my yard. I only have to take capacitors out and concrete from kelms or stuff with concrete in /on it.
at my local yard, they buy appliances as "White Goods" and so long as the original plastic is intact they don't have any negativity towards the "scrapper". However, if you add extra plastics to your stoves, refrigerators, washers and dryers ; and you get caught, they will give you one verbal warning. If you get caught again they will no longer accept any type of material from you in the future.
Thanks olddude ,key word ethics and do things the way that you would like to be treated by others. Listen to your feelings 99% of the time they will be right.Carma will bite you if you feel that you may be doing the wrong thing . All actions have a reaction ask your self is the reaction worth the problems that may arise ?.
When breaking things down to max profit things that are not metal go in my regular trash. That being said...Shred pile could be looked at as Steel breakage and when you turn in Brass breakage, SS breakage, Aluminum breakage etc, it is accepted that it contains byproduct...The key being that it is attached and not loose laying next to it.
