    4x4 Scale....Mobile?

My issue is buying metal from companies and dealerships is i am not sure how much weight they have...So i never know what to pay them. So either im getting screwed or they are. I was thinking about putting my scale on the back of my trailer and start using that to buy scrap. But now...How much do i pay per ton?
Lets say i paid $180 per ton
Then i would get $220 for sheet
    $310 for heavy
    $320 for auto cast.
Then we have all the non-fuerrous i would buy.
What do you guys think? Good idea or not?
Also...What are you guys paying for mixed electronics..Lets say a xbox, VCR and cordless phone. Im currently paying .11 per lb...Am i screwing my self?
    Thanks!

I'd say yes, I buy computers and other related parts only and everything else gets hauled off for free.

I could be wrong but if you're going to be buying/selling by weight, you need to be certified and have an accurate scale.

You do, but as soon as you move it somewhere it needs to be re-calabrated. thats where im stuck. I might just dance around that right now and see how it goes.

This is how I get around the certified scale issue if I want to buy by weight. I carry a scale in the truck and obviously it's not certified.

Somebody wants to sell me a bunch of scrap and wants .10/lb. I tell the I'm going to weigh the stuff on my scale. They're welcome to watch if they want but it's just for my own purposes. I'll be offering the $xxx for the pile. I weigh it and it comes to 450 pounds. In plain sight, I figure (450).10= $45. I tell him "I'll give you $45 for the pile". Weight is never mentioned.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

If you kept say a 10 or 25lb weight with you and scale that before you weigh what you are buying and show the customer that it is accurate. Even if the scale is off by +-1 due to transport you can still get an accurate weight.

I only pay for computer towers and high grade boards and prossors. I don't pay for anything else, I would never pay for telephones unless cell phones and then not much.
