The only issue I would have living next to you out in the country is heavy metals leaching into the soil and getting into my well water (assuming you have a few tons of various metals and electronics out in the open rusting away). I live in the city where most people just ***** about neighbors not cutting their grass, parking derelict cars on the street, or turning the stereo up at 1AM.

There was a local guy who got the police on him because he was a compulsive hoarder that had his whole back yard full of junk (along with the house) in a tightly packed residential area. His house ended up getting torn down and all the junk was removed, not sure what happened to him.

Ummm, OK. I am a married guy. So pardon me. " What is Sex (question mark)" Lol. Sorry my question mark key is on permanant vacation.

On a good note. Olddude, I am glad you are helping your community in a charitable way. Also, I am glad that you are not in any kind of trouble with the police.

Its weird how much fear overcomes you when dealing with law enforcement.

I really hate the feeling and wish i did not always need to be afraid of what could happen.

The fear of the law comes from the fact that they can charge you for a dozen violations from doing pretty much anything.

Drop your keyboard on the desk. Might get the key working again. Does for me.

Unless it's a laptop. Prolly wouldn't suggest doing that.

The above statement speaks volumes about your character. If more people got involved with local organizations like you have, the world would be a better place. You're a good man Olddude and I'm glad to hear things worked out for you.

I didn’t reply to this thread before because I didn’t want to get you all worried.
What I thought was they stopped by due to the type of scrap you are now dealing with.
When I was a reseller of computers and parts *back in the 80-90’s I had to record every serial number off of every part before they could be sold or destroyed for that matter. I normally had to hold every item for at least 30 days until it was cleared city, county and state.
Had one system go out of state and sold to a DA in ILL. What a raid and pain.
    Careful my friend!

seems the anxiety began when the name changed from "Peace officer" to LAW ENFORCEMENT " something to do with the words peace and force would be my guess.

Glad it wasn't about your scrap.

On the zoning question, it is always a struggle to balance the rights of the individual with the rights of his neighbors. It helps when people make the effort to see each other's points of view and work together in the spirit of cooperation instead of rushing into conflict. Wonder how often that happens? lol.

I wonder if the sherriff realizes he broke federal law by putting it in the mailbox? Glad it turned out to be nothing major!
