I have been getting #2 price for this for ever..........Today I went and it was graded #3 and of course I questioned it..........The price was still fair .88cents a lb they are paying for this #3 but what kind of price are you guys getting and should I shop this wire around or is that a good price........It was also clean with all the ends cut off........HMMMM.....I think I will just hoard it and look around for better pricing

Mike, are you breaking down the power supplies further (separating components)? Or just selling whole minus the outside wires (how much are you getting)? If breaking down, how much time are you putting into it? I just unloaded about 600+lbs of complete power supplies @ $.28 lb. because i just didnt think it would be worth the time to break down.

I am only cutting the wire and getting only .20/lb without wire........Market not very strong on power supplies around here

If I leave the wires on PS's I have yet to get less the .30 # for the whole unit, so I have been leaving them on.

.30# wire cut off, .35# with wire, .28# for plug in type, .40# for server power supply's that have gold ends. If I cut off wire I get #2 insulated at $1.00#.

Nice...wish i could find someone local at that price. But, I am finding more people in my area than I originally thought existed. Even with all my online searches I have still made more contacts by hanging out at scrap yards and talking to the guys (wholesalers) that I run across who are there picking up material. Still planning on shipping boards/processors because still cant find someone local to buy them at a decent price.

I sell them as #2...and am getting $1.60/lbs...I know it will change eventually but I'll enjoy it while I can!

Yep...prices are nice...but at almost over $4/gal for gas...cost of living is high...so you pay for it...

here 1 gallon is 3.75 litres, today's petrol is $1.40 lt so fuel is $5.25 a gallon in australia
there's an over emphasis on the gold bits we scrap out of e-waste, but in reality wires & cords are where the money is.

im wondering the same thing, alot of the power supply wires ive seen look like aluminum not copper, and what would ribbon cables/sata cables be classified as?

I've been looking over an hour, and the only threads which specifically asked were told "the answers are everywhere!" ; ) I've about concluded from what I did find, to toss it whole in with #2 ins and hope it don't get downgraded. I believe I've read ribbon cables are 35%, just not absolutely sure if, where, or when, lol
