I have to disagree. Granted I've only sent one shipment to them, and none to anyone else, so weigh that in my opinion, but I was quite happy with my transaction with ecyclegroup. Everything I sent was accounted for, and while a couple were marked off as having been damaged, I cannot dispute that they were not damaged. Sometimes I get a bit rowdy removing them when they don't slide over to where I can get at 'em!!

When you get enough then you can meet with a toll refiner and go 50-50.

The environmental impact of printer cartridges
It takes one gallon of oil to make a new laser cartridge.
Nearly eight cartridges are thrown away per second in the United States alone.
About 70% of used printer cartridges are currently being thrown out.
Over 75% of waste is recyclable, but we only recycle about 30% of it.
A laser cartridge thrown into a landfill can take up to 450 years to decompose - some components take over 1,000 years.
In one year, if the world’s discarded cartridges were stacked end-to-end, they would circle the earth over three times.

Well THERE'S the problem! Five $4 cartridges damaged. You know, come to think of it, several of the HP 6578's that I sent them got rejected as damaged: 5 out of 8 I wonder if there's a pattern to them rejecting as damaged the higher-paying cartridges, and if that's nefarious or if they just check those a lot more carefully.

Still, even with a few of mine being rejected, I was pleased with the outcome. I'll just be more careful removing them & packing them from now on... I have several printer powercords at my workstation now so I can plug in printers & try to get the cartriges to slide over under their own power rather than prying at them.

Well, good luck anyway... and it looks like you'll pretty much have to send them another shipment just to get what you've already sent them paid.

Yea, I am not sure if I want to! I added the high price ones to ensure that I would get a check!

Sounds like those guys are not on my list to send stuff to based on the above. And I get quite a bit with my deal with the school recycling club.

I'm sure they scam countless people who think they are sending in $50+ worth of cartridges only to find out they are worth less than $25, so they can't get a check, and then they just forget about the site which leaves ecycle with free cartridges.

So was it worth it HOBO? shipping costs and all? I have at least 100 ink cartridges to sell and would rather get dollars than cents.

    What is there website?

They pay the shipping and they only buy what's on their list: Price Lists | eCycle Group

I'd be curious to find others who have sent them big lots to see if a disproportionate number of their high-value cartridges got rejected.

I can see both sides of such a pattern: perhaps they're nefariously underpaying people, or perhaps they more closely/carefully inspect the high-value cartridges as part of their quality control.

I'll probably use them again even with those unanswered questions. It's not like there are a whole lot of other buyers beating down my door, and with the roadblocks the bigbox office stores have thrown up in front of recycling for profit with them, it's too much of a PITA to jump through all their frickin hoops. Better to just send off a box on their dime & take what I get from them, IMHO.
