Has anyone used this company before? They have prices listed for over 900 types of empty toner and ink cartridges; they also buy new, un-opend cartridges.

We Buy Empty Ink and Toner Cartridges

Honestly I can't really seem to find a better/easier deal than staples just make sure to bring in the 10 a month, get a gf or friend to take some in also. They sell paper towels, cleaning products, and office supplies that are handy if you have a scrap business and you can earn $240 per year per person.....

what about the little gold chips?
I'm taking them off, they just click off easy and the're like mini cell phone chips, not much to 'em but their cute.
and the ones with tape and little gold blobs, i peel them off too.
is this what everyone else does?

    Toner Buyer.com
Yes, I've sent dozens of shipments to them. It works as advertised: They send you labels, you send them a box full of stuff, they cut you a check. The check references the last four digits of the tracking number. If cartridges are damaged, you'll have no idea which ones. So while you may be expecting a check for $75, it might come back as $68. Happens to me on most shipments; usually only off by a couple bucks. I take the cartridges out of the retail boxes; it cuts down on weight and volume and helps keep the price list high. But by doing this I might be damaging them in transit. I have no idea. Only downside is that it usually takes the full quoted 21 business days for payment to get to me. And that their price list is kinda low.

I do NOT recommend eCycle (ecycle group .com) or anyone else that has you ship items to 380 Bayfront Parkway in Erie, PA. They have a much quicker payment and a much more robust reporting system. You can log in and see everything they've received and credited you for. But they've screwed me over many times by not counting things I've sent in and claiming I sent in worthless cartridges that I did not. While their customer service department has been helpful, they eventually got to the point where they put more trust in the guys punching things incorrectly in to the computer than they did in me and stopped crediting me.
They're part of Clover Tech, the largest cartridge recycler in the country. They are the ones that buy cartridges from Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, Quill, and others. They get hundreds of shipments a day and probably screw up half of them.

Honestly I don't think you looked at their price list. They'll often pay more than $2.00 per cartridge; which would you rather have--$2 cash or $2 credit at Staples? I only give Staples cartridges that aren't on anyone's price list. Even if I can get ten cents cash Staples won't get it.
Also, Staples changed their recycling program months after you posted. They now require you to spend at least $30 on ink or toner within the previous 180 days before they'll issue any rewards. So assuming you have a steady supply, it now costs $60 to get $240.

I believe you need to have $25 in your account before they'll issue a check. Either you didn't meet that or some of your stuff was damaged and they don't pay for damaged cartridges. Regardless, you can always call them and ask about it.

It's nearly impossible to drain a cartridge of all toner or ink. I imagine they can reuse some of the residual toner.

    From Office Depot Web Site...
Office Depot store. As a member, you'll get $2 back in Recycling Rewards for each cartridge recycled, up to 10 cartridges per month. You can recycle additional cartridges, but Recycling Rewards will only be issued on the monthly limit. Recycling Rewards will be granted when you make qualifying Office DepotŪ purchases and will not exceed the amount of your total qualifying Office Depot purchases made within a Reward Period. (Qualifying purchases exclude taxes; delivery fees; postage stamps; prepaid gift, debit, phone or service cards; and purchases made with Office Depot Rewards and Merchandise Cards/Certificates.) We reserve the right to decline acceptance of visibly damaged cartridges for recycling. Please allow up to 6 weeks for your Recycling Rewards to post to your account after qualifying purchases are made. Recycling Rewards will be issued with your Rewards Certificate when you earn $10 or more in Rewards. Subject to Program Terms and Conditions.

So you have to purchase something and then get your points to spend 6 weeks later?

I have to disagree. Granted I've only sent one shipment to them, and none to anyone else, so weigh that in my opinion, but I was quite happy with my transaction with ecyclegroup. Everything I sent was accounted for, and while a couple were marked off as having been damaged, I cannot dispute that they were not damaged. Sometimes I get a bit rowdy removing them when they don't slide over to where I can get at 'em!!

When you get enough then you can meet with a toll refiner and go 50-50.

I go through 2 sets of cartridges a year in my printer so buying those from staples to qualify is no problem that's $60 right there......Buying pack and ship supplies, office supplies etc I will easily qualify at office depot.
