2015 office store ink programs
Office Max is now Office Depot
It's as simple as 1-2-3
1. Recycle your ink and toner cartridges in-store.
Limit 10 cartridges per month.
2. Get 200 points per recycled cartridge when you make a $10 qualifying purchase during the same month.
3. Get your rewards certificate after the end of the month for every 1,000 points you earn.

Getting a box and shipping label sent to me to try Advantage, will post results here....
Looks like Staples is buying Office Depot
Got an email they say check cut for $15.65 should be more like $30.10! I asked for a list of what items were accepted and how they came up with the $15.65 number!
Still waiting on a response.
I sent the following
15 HP 21 x $.75 = $11.25
7 HP 22 x $2.00 = $14.00
1 HP 57 x $1.60 = $1.60
1 HP 901 x $2.25 = $2.25
9 Remanufactured HP 21 x $.10 = $.90
1 Remanufactured HP 22 x $.10 = $.10
THEY SAY...
1 HP 21 x $.75 = $.75
11 HP 21 Introductory x $.40 = $4.40
5 HP 22 x $2.00 = $10.00
4 HP 21 Remanufactured x $.10 = $.40
1 HP 22 Remanufactured x $.10 = $.10
Damaged ones were listed as...
3 HP 21's
2 HP 21 intros
2 HP 22's
1 HP 57
1 HP 901
3 HP 21 Remanafactured

Looks like they are not going to adjust price. So I must say they are just like all the rest expect only 1/2 of the price that you send in! There has got to be a better way.... I will let you know when I get my check.
Not defending them but introductory ones only hold or are programmed for 1/4 to half the amount of ink, like what a new printer comes with. Also the reman's have already been refilled and reprogrammed or maybe a different mylar stuck on the bottom. I can understand it, from a remanufacturing point of view.THEY SAY...
1 HP 21 x $.75 = $.75
11 HP 21 Introductory x $.40 = $4.40
5 HP 22 x $2.00 = $10.00
4 HP 21 Remanufactured x $.10 = $.40
1 HP 22 Remanufactured x $.10 = $.10

Hi, I'm new here and looking for ways to get more money from recycling my company's laser toners. I used to throw away my empty/defective ink cartridges at home and at work and never bothered to recycle. When I learned that I can make cash from them, I took 10 to Office Depot and later 20 ink cartridges that I accumulated to Office Max and received $30 and $60 (they give $3 per then) store credit in rewards right away. Little did I know that I have to first buy something from them equivalent to the amount I recycled in order to take advantage of the full amount on my NEXT purchase. I thought that's just too much work and not much of a good deal (basically 50% and you have to make 2 separate purchases so that the rewards credit can be applied to the 2nd purchase). I also didn't know that there is an expiration on these rewards. So I only was able to use the Office Depot credit but lost the $60 credit from Office Max because it expired. They would not even re-issue it when I called even for a one time courtesy. My fault, I didn't bother to read the fine print on their recycling policy. I should have gone to Staples in the first place because at that time they had a much better policy (they still have despite now requiring to buy $30 worth of ink in order to get credits). I was only able to take advantage of their $3 pricing for a couple of months before they changed it to $2 per cartridge.
The nice thing about taking it to Staples is that they take any kind of cartridge in any condition for $2, no questions ask. However, it's too much to carry those large laser toner cartridges to the store (I no longer have a car). I see now you can mail it to them so I don't have to carry them to the store except i still have to pack them. However I thought maybe I can get a better deal from other companies buying them online if i'm going to do that. I first went to Slickdeals.com and Fatwallet.com to look for reviews on these ink recycling companies but instead it lead me to this forum. So I registered. Now i know there isn't a standout company. There are mixed reviews at best. Doing an inventory on a spreadsheet to account for every cartridge makes it less favorable to get $3-$5 out of each of them. Even then you only have to hope you get that price, if anything at all because some of them gets marked as damaged and you get nothing out of all your effort. If you average it out, don't you think that you still get at least the same amount, if not more, if you recycle through Staples? The drawback of course is that you don't get cash at Staples but store credit that you are forced to spend within 2 months. I am a Premier customer so I get to recycle 20 per month. I understand that CASH is better than Staples rewards. I guess if you don't buy anything at Staples, it's not a good deal but they sell a bunch of stuff that i'm sure people use on a regular basis.

I think I mentioned this before but Liberty Laser Solutions is the only company worth sending cartridges to. I have shipped several loads and have been surprised by a larger than expected check every time. They do not require you to send them a list, they pay freight and send a truck to pick it up. All I do is shrink wrap the pallet. I think they are located in Illinois. They do require at least 1 pallet to pick up, and take about 30 days to pay.
That seems to be a standard time frame for this commodity. They do require at least 1 pallet to pick up, and take about 30 days to pay.

Recycling printer cartridges is an excellent activity if you want to raise money for your cause. Setting up a recycling program for your organization is easy. We have collected well known recycling programs that all operate nationwide and focus on working with non-profit organizations.
After signing up with one of the programs they will send you prepaid envelopes that you and your supporters can use for sending in empty printer cartridges. Each envelope should have a specific code for your organization. All you need to do is to put the cartridges in the envelope and drop it in a mailbox. Once the recycling company receives and approves the cartridges, they'll make out a check and send it to you. Note that certain payment thresholds may apply before money is paid out.
