I wasn't being snarky, the "Google search" inserted itself with the link.

Best of luck with your goals. It's doable!

Went to one of my pick ups to grab a little but of stuff.

    21 lbs. Motherboards ($14.00 ???)
    22 lbs. Finger Cards ($93.45)
    0.7 lbs mixed processors ($82.50)
    --------------------------------------------------
    Cost $58.50 ($191.45)

    Total Profit $132.95

The best part of the day was when I talked to a business associate who has a 100,000 Square Foot wharehouse. After speaking with him for a little while we came up with a plan that works for both of us.

I can use the space I need for now.

    The lease will be incremental.

3 months at a couple hundred and increasing slowly as I do better. This will allow me to grow into the space and begin buying e-waste!

Spoke with a potential investor. Working out the details but plan on sending him the business plan and meeting with him after Christmas.

Going out later to kinkos to get the printing done. At home having fried chicken.
Best of luck to you Geiser! Go out there and make it happen!

I got those numbers mixed up. It is 14.00 in processors, and $82.50 im MB. I believe I am going to start sending everything to ewasted.

I know there was no snarkyness in tended Idaho. It was self directed, in this day and age I think personally the only dumb question is the one I ask before Google-ing it!!! I know better.

Well it is 2:30 am so I am going to bed. Just finished 5 rooms of drywall late night on a rental for an investor. Up another $100 to buy more e-scrap.

    Tuesday 11-27-2012 Update

I went out to look at the new retail location possibility. I think I can make it work. The big area is huge way more than I can use right now. However, there are storage lockers built into a portion of the building and I may be able to work out of two of them for the time being. One as the office scale area, and the other for storage and immediate breakdown.

OK now the dilemma I am faced with is which space do I go for? I think the 2 storage lockers is great idea at about $100-$200 per month. The larger area is nice so I may try to negotiate terms for the lease. 3 months $300, increasing every 3 months to full price. We will have to see how it goes.

The greatest motivator for me is the ability to have a retail location with a scale. This building is less than five minutes from a scrap yard. I know I can get some overflow from guys looking to maximize their money. I think the right advertising combination will do wonders.

I will continue to gather facts, analyze the data, and make a decision.

I am in the process of Making a round of pick ups from the calls I have gotten. Wife is riding shotgun, then out for steaks. Will post results for today's PU's later.

The only problem I see is many are going unsold. I also believe it is against building code to reuse a breaker, I dont know I just think I ran into the question with one of my electricians once.

interesting info about those stab-lok breakers

I had a really good day today. Ran a little over 1/2 tank gas out the truck, partly chasing goods, the other part running personal errands. Picked up the am load and sold some for parts, then grabbed up the wife and went out on a maybe.

    10 Mostly Complete Towers
    6 Hard Drives
    11+ Lbs. Hard Drives
    4 VCRs and DVDs
1 box filled with various drives and power supplies.

    $50 cash

Have not gotten to process yet but expect to do really well. No matter what the trip landed us at a Japanese Steak House so win win. I also ran into a load of building materials. Just removed at no cost from a property that needed cleaned out. Sold part for $35 to a good customer. Still have 4 15 amp Stab Lok, GFCI breakers. Thanks to one of the above posts!!! And a box of screws, bolts, and nails, brand new in the box. And some other stuff.

I also went to the printer finally and got some flyers printed. Staples here in Pittsburgh only gave me $2.00 per ink cartridge, $18.00 in store credit. The associate informed me that they will send me a coupon for that amount in the next month or so. I will use it invest in more flyers that will hopefully create more work.

It was a special occasion, the anniversary my our first date 9 years ago. I do understand the misery that a new venture brings. I kind of enjoy the suffering. It is sacrifice, invest in the business, suffer, suffer, SUCCESS...

I believe I have a solid plan. I have income to support my family if the scrap cannot. But thanks for the advice. By the way lunch yesterday was 2 Mcdoubles and a coke!

Home Depot and Lowes have free coffee if any of you guys are really on the grind. I stop if I'm riding by for a freebee.

    Wednesday 11-28-2012 Update

The scrap had to take a back seat today, still ended up with a truck load! LOL!

Went to do some handyman repairs to plumbing lines gas/water. Went to look at the job got a parts list and went to Home Depot. Here is the key, paid $140 for materials with HD Gift card Purchased at 50 cents on the dollar. Craigslist Baby. Up $70 before I got started. Finished up and charged him $250 for the day. I did a job for him last year when he was broke and his lights were off. He went and paid the bill when we went to the hardware store. Got back pulled toilet rebuilt shower drain. He was strugglin and I told him no charge. He called me for this job and just got an inheritance. Paid my guy $70 for the day.

Total profit $250. + Washer, Dryer, And stove sold the stove for $20 to a buddy for rental. Scrap in truck for the am.

Made it home and broke down yesterday's load. Here is the break down.

Lith Ion Battery 10.7 Lbs. $18.73

    Mother Boards 14.3 Lbs. $42.90

    RAM .5 Lbs. $7.00

    Finger Cards 2.7 Lbs. $12.00

    Processors MISC. .5 Lbs. $15.00(Estimated)

    Hdd 18.0 Lbs. $19.80

    3.5" & DVD 38 Lbs. $15.20

    Power Supply 35 Lbs. $14.00

    4 GFCI Circuit Breakers $20.00

    Laptops 16 Lbs. $12.60

    Wire 10 Lbs. $7.50
    __________________________________________________ _

    Total Lot Value $184.73

    Paid $50.00 Cash

    PROFIT $134.73

I still have some misc. BS to sort through and cut ends off wires, taking in the shred in the am. washer, dryer, stove from pick up call on way home, and all the cases. Will post those results tomorrow. So far so good. Things are going well. I am getting excited. There is no doubt the retail location is the way to go.

Those are arc fault circuit interrupter breakers. They are worth $30 each. The pcmica cards from laptops are hit or miss, they can be worth anything from $1 each to $15 each.

If you come across any fpe / stab lok circuit breakers let me know. I can move them.

" Create Donation Bins Program for in-store drop offs"

I like your idea and have looked into doing this at local ship it stores where allot of small businesses go. One idea would be to step it up and put drop off containers for Electronics in Parking lots or near busy streets. At our local supermarket there are 3 drop off containers for clothes, paper and books and they are making money off all those. Open 24 X 7 and they fill up fast.
