Property clean-up??

I was asked to quote a property cleanup that has 2 burnt trailerhouses on it and other misc. things. I've never done anything like this before and was wondering if some fellow scrappers out there could give me any kind of idea how to go about quoting it?

how bad were they burnt like just ashes and scrap metal left or are they mostly intact?

I will go ahead and tell you there is a lot of work and little money to be made in mobile homes. Like mentioned above if they are burnt to the ground and nothing but ashes and metal it will save a lot of work and time.

I would bid this job as a straight demolition contract.

#1 Determine You Cubic Footage for dumpsters. 30yards, 30yards x 2 etc.

#2 Determine Your Labor Cost. (# Days x # hours x Pay Rate)

Add (#1 + #2) x 2.0 or greater and this would be my bid.

Any scrap metal would just be icing on the cake. Trying to do a job like ths for the metal may be a break even if you have to haul everything to the dump. If you can haul everything in your truck it may be cheaper than a dumpster. Remember your time is valuable so time spent loading, driving, and unloading equals, gas, labor and wear and tear.

When using the mulltiplyer to determine profit the greater the competition the more I stick closer to 2.0 x Labor + Material.

I appreciate all your responses! after looking at it, it ended up being more than i could handle. It was basically and acre of nothing but trash and would take a dozer and front end loader to accomplish. have the dozer but not the loader. The housing frames were already taken also.

it is literaly trash. old clothes, shoes, plastic bags of all kinds, stuffed animals, styrofoam cups, just garbage like that all over the place.
