Im new to electronic scrapping. Can anyone help me out?

I have been a traditional junker for years. I know what parts of cars to keep and sale for different prices, same as with washer and dryer parts. But I'm getting a lot of computers, printers, televisions, all different types of electronics. What parts of what is worth keeping? Any advice or help given to me will be greatly appreciated.

Read a whole lot of the old thread in the "Electronic Recycling" sub-forum. Pretty much everything you could ever need to ask will be answered there. Welcome to the forum from Austin, TX.

Don't forget to read our buyers forum. Our buyers are reviewed by members who have used them which will give you an idea of who you may want to sell to. I live in coastal NC and ship to several of the buyers here on the forum. Its far more profitable than selling locally for me. Many of the buyers can save you on shipping costs.

Welcome to the forum and follow what the others have recommended. Mike

Stonecold, first welcome to the forum. Anything you want to know about scrappin electronics you can find in the section called "elecrtonics recycling" go the home page, youwill see a list of all the catagories, scroll down till you find "electronics recycling" it's about 14 or 15 sections down. It's alot of reading about 1300 threads just go through, clik on each one and if it sounds like it would help you then read all the post for that thread. Good luck.

Welcome to the forums Stonecold, I trust you'll be a fan of the traveling cooler ands it's frosty beverages. What part of W.Va you from? Got one of my dogs from up there, and used to enjoy hitting the slots and races when I lived 45 mins from Charlestown. Heh.

Everyone else has pointed ya to the threads you should be reading to start your education in E waste. Get used to where they are, you will frequent them a lot. They also gave you my best pieces of advice..Read everything, and become familiar with the search box, I prefer the advanced version my self. The generic one is to temperamental, if I want that i just go annoy my wife. Oh..and this piece of advice is very very important...NEVER EVER enjoy a drink while browsing any topic with a post from Bear, Burly or Brasscatcher. All 3 tend to have moments that will have you spitting soda, water, coffee, liquid on your screen.

On pictures..You need to upload them to photo-sharing service like Photo-bucket, etc. Under the FAQ tab for the forums I believe is where you can find a guide to learning how to post pics and links. If there is a way to do it straight from you computer, without using a photo service..nobody's told me. I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong that tho. EDIT - Found link to the Faq, should answer you questions..Enjoy. Reading and Posting Messages

Anyhow, welcome again to the forums, sit back grab a thread pop your feet up, enjoy a cold one and let your edumacation begin!

Sirscrapalot - Cause Sirscrapalot Said so..and thats the bottom line! ( Forgive me non wrestling fans..I couldn't resist.)
