    Help Me Name my Business...

As I develop my business I am at the place now where I feel it is right to go legit, for me that means form an LLC, Lock in a name, and have a Logo designed. The first step would be concreting a good name. I went to an acronym maker website but didn't really get anywhere. I wanted a business name that could also be an acronym for several reasons.

The bulk of my business will be ewaste, both bought and donated to the company, I take non-ferrous to a local yard (until I get a better deal somehwere else) and I will send my ewaste to a buyer here on the board.

I wanted a name that addressed my region such as Guntersville, North Alabama, Northeast Alabama, Alabama, or Southern, and my purpose, electric recyclers, asset recovery, resource renewal, etc. and possibly LLC at the end of it...

Can anyone here think of anything great? If you help me name it before my wife ASSIGNS it a name I'll send you a sample piece of every swag merchandise that I ever have made from T-Shirts to sticker, mousepads to minnow buckets...

What do ya got? My tagline would be something to the effect of "If it has batteries or a cord, We can recycle it" Which I may have even got from someone on this board's signature...

    Jeremy Burrage

Sometimes simpler is better. IE "Charter Recycling LLC" versus "Northern Alabama electronic recycling LLC. It does make you sound bigger than you might be starting out.

being an armchair geologist, I suggest Browns Valley Recycling LLC

abbreviate it BVR, LLC -- I like it because you can register a nice brief domain name, bvrllc.com

or put the letters BVR in a recycling symbol, maybe use a beaver chewing an electrical cord as a mascot.

best wishes with your new venture

In this day and age, I would only consider a business name that I could get the .com for and has a searched for keyword as part of the name (ie ewaste, computer recycling, etc). This will help with organic ranking in the search engines. It also looks more professional to have an email address such as burrage1@alabamaewaste.com than burrage1@yahoo or gmail.com

you can name your company whatever you want and operate under what ever name you want.

So you can register your company as your name. For example "Billy Bob LLC"

but operate your company under the name "Super awesome recycles"

Just check with your state and county.

    We pay you to recycle!

Dont pay some one to do those things. Thats throwing money out the window when your a start up.

Thats like buying a new house then paying people to wash the windows, mow the lawn, cook dinner, clean. Sure great if your rich but with your first house normally your broke.

The domain "alabamaewaste.com" is currently available. If you can snag this name I can't help but feel like it would be a no-brainer for all the reasons mentioned above - simplicity.. great keywords... hell it even starts with the coveted "A" for phonebook purposes. It also allows you to have a regional name like you wanted while still giving room for growth within the state.

I have selected Alabama E-Waste. If both JohnM and FourNines will PM me both their physical addresses and their e-mail addresses then as I get to the point where I am producing swag they will get one of everything I ever make in return for them helping me to settle on a name. Thanks men!

Do you have or need permits or licensing in your area to be a recycler and or e waste special recycler? I would check these things out before you put an e waste tag in your name. Not to say you cant collect ewaste but processing and storing it is another ball game.

I would say keep it simple. A big long name is hard to remember especially if it is also your web address.
I was at the spot you are and chose oneOLDbuffalo.com easy to remember and it had something to do with my product. I developed a good product but I had trouble finding a reliable printer was horrible. I have actually stopped this business.

Well there ended up being some issues with registering my LLC name under this, it was kicked back so I ended up changing my name to ElectroWaste Recycling. My logo work is being now and I'll post it when it's done. Thanks for all the suggestions!
