I have 100+ dvd drives i'm testing and listing. I'm looking for a safe way to ship them. They wont fit into a small flat rate box, med flat rate is too expensive. I've had someone complain before about using padded envelopes. What do you guys think?

Look for a box that the drives fit into and that also fit into the flat rate envelopes.

What's wrong with a layer of cardboard top and bottom in a Bubble envelope?? Add a fragile tag to it. (yea, I know) That's an invite to dropkick it,,,lol

i think if you fold a padded flat rate in the middle and put the drive in it then into another padded flat rate it would give 3 layers all the way around

I bubble wrap mine and then put them into a padded flate rate envelope. Havnt had any complaints yet about broken bezels. I have had a couple people say the drive wouldnt power up when they got it. Thats what happens when packages gets tossed arround though. Can even happen in a box.
Just so you all know, any writing on a package is not needed, looked at, thought about or anything.
Secure your package so you can drop it on the floor from waist height. It will happen when being shipped, and there is no way to stop it.
(Coming from a former "package handler" for ups)

Check out USPS Media Mail. If you make it part of an educational package you could mail it bubble wrap envelope, with signature confirmation - tracking and all, for less than $7 east coast to west coast. Think recycling literature with every dvd drive!

We send out quite a few dvd drives - first bubble wrap, then stuffed into a USPS priority box no. 1096 (bigger than flat rate - you have to order them from the usps.com site),
then stuff the box into a mailer (plain plastic mailing envelope bought in batches of 50 from ebay) - and it goes out first class mail. No complaints yet! If you don't have a mailer,
I'd just wrap the box with brown wrapping paper (or grocery bag paper - WalMart sells a big roll of it for $4) and it all ships out well under the 13 oz limit for first class.

90% off all dvdrw drives I have on my enay shelf right now are over 20 ounces. I found 1 that was 12. How you sending them first class?
