    Cool Metal Detecting For Scrap

I have been scrapping for a little over four years now and things have kind of slowed down in my area and to fill the gaps in between i have invested in a ACE 250 Garrett metal detector with waterproof coil and been spending my downtime by the local bay at low tide. you would not believe the scrap finds, old railroad spikes, tracks, carts, copper cable, chain links, boat anchors and few silver coins. in three hours of searching and digging i made over $275 witch is not to bad for a first day.

Nice. I have thought about investing in a metal detector, and probably will once the funds are available. Just starting out and have been laid off the last few months, so all my money goes to reinvesting.

Nice haul for one day. I spent a good amount of time detecting and recovered 9 gold rings as well as lots of other goodies. I was able to find the rightful owners of three of the rings which was a much bigger payoff than the cash value. One was a class ring and two were wedding rings that had been reported lost in the swimming hole.

Metal detecting is great if you live near a beach. I take one every time we vacation in FL. I usually find a new one to take home at a yard sale while there. The two things I always loved about FL was the yard sales and detecting on the beach.

Yes..living on a beach is fun when you have a metal detector. Being on a sandbar with one, and lots of hurricanes..even better.

Now when I say I'm a go sit on the beach with the traveling cooler, you all know what I'm really doing. You relax your way, and I'll relax mine.

Sirscrapalot - Hrrm...might be time to put beach wheels on the cooler. ha!
