    Good luck to the OP..I hope ur not borrowing that 40k..I could take a loan out for 5x that and wouldnt consider opening a yard..unless u wana be the yard that makes nothing nd is buying copper at .50 a lb..ma n pa stuff..nobody is going to sell to you..

    Had an experience with a yard like that...said they mainly buy cans..said bye quick..

    I would think before you dive in that u should have a customer base..n have made over 40gs from scrapping..just my opinion..
