Will forming LLC dramatically increase e-waste

There are a couple e-recyclers in my area that collect e-waste for free. They do not ever pay for material, and they both charge a pick up fee for small quantities (one says fewer than 5 towers, the other doesn't specify) They occasionally advertise on CL but before I started doing e-waste myself I had never heard of them. I did a little checking up on them and they both employ about 8 people full time. So they have to be getting quite a bit of material!!

My question is would going legit, as LLC, or any other licensed business, setting up a website with strong SEO, and setting up an office/processing facility bring enough FREE material to justify it?

I am baffled by the fact that not one but two companies here get enough free stuff to employ so many people when I work my butt off everyday trying to convince people to SELL their junk to me instead of throwing it away.

    All advice is welcome.

I sure they are probably getting stuff from businesses ect rather than alot of individuals...that is where the mo ey os made...business contracts. Also look at their websites...alot of these guys also perform services like wiping hard drives for these businesses...you can charge like $20-50 a pop yo do that to dod standards and give them a cert of destruction for their records...and business in the medical field, lawyers and anyone dealing with personal info need that service to protect themselves.Look Iinto that type of service to add more $$$$ to the bottom line.

well one thing we recently learned for certain., all that effort and cost will get you a lot of attention .............. from the IRS, home land security, the FBI, NSA, and just about any other alphabet org in the government can muster.

the competitors you mention have probably been around for years. the reason you hadn't heard of them is, until the last year or so E scrap , particularly computer and server value as scrap was a well guarded insider thing like catalytic converters were, for years. when the economy was good and jobs were every where to be had it stayed secret. when the economy went to he** every one, their brother, cousin, grandpa et al started to look for something to make money, and those secrets leaked out.

How I , for instance found out about converters, was, I was scrapping cars back then, one day a guy and his wife camt to the door and asked if they could buy a piece of the exaust off an old junker I had out back for $20. later I went out and got in my truck to go some where
and discovered the A hole not only took the cats from the junker but from all three of my family vehicles.

my curiosity as to why some one would do such an idiotic thing led me to research and I soon discovered why. Computer scrap was no different.
"anyone who thinks scrappin is easy money ain't doin it right!"

Well my take on this is they could be e-certified r-22 ,check that out, most large company,s and Government agency,s seek out certified e-scrap recyclers.
