MY Core Buyer is in need of a Buyer of Aluminum Rims- Central Indiana

    All-
I am looking for someone who may be an end buyer or has a contact. I went to my core buyer today and they currently DO NOT have a buyer for their aluminum rims. As it stands as of this posting they have a semi-load of Dirty Aluminum rims (Meaning they may have center caps, wheel weights or valve stems) They also have approximately 40 gaylords of CLEAN. This is their immediate need but they are looking for a long term buyer of their continuous stream of aluminum rims. This would be a significant account for someone.

Their current MINIMUM buy prices needed are:
    At Least .85/lb Dirty
    At Least .88/lb Clean

Please contact me via PM if you have the logistics, buying power and ability to haul out of Central Indiana to your facility in order to make your bottom line.

Hey Sledge, there's a wheel buyer in the buyers threads, I'm not sure how active he is, but might be worth contacting

Thanks guys. Wheelbuyer wants wheels he can refurbish and re-sell. I am really hunting further up the supply chain. More along the lines of a Smelter, Direct sell to a mill, Someone like an Alcoa or something similar who have the infrastructure to buy large quantities and pay higher prices for Truckload rates.. maybe this clarifies a bit? Thanks

    Scrapdaddy:
    Currently:
    1 Full Semi of Dirty
    1 Full Semi of Clean
1 Full Semi of Mixed- which they are going to Clean in the meantime while finding a buyer.
So at the moment: 3 semi loads.. soon to be 2 clean and 1 dirty.

Look up a company called LEGEND SMELTING AND RECYCLING. THEY ARE GLOBAL. They pay premiums for many items. Converters, aluminum rims, even zinc. Best of luck,in sure you took care of this long ago. Lol

    Chili-
Thanks for the input. I'm not sure the next trip I'll ever take to my core buyer. I got out of pulling cars.. but was still taking a lot of my non-ferrous scrap to them. A few months ago I arrived with a van load and they informed me they were no longer buying any of it anymore. They re-focused on car cores and since I'm not hauling cars.. and they are not buying my alum, brass, elec motors etc.. Sad to say.. I may never have a reason to go back to them. Which is a shame.. I never really had a buyer like that. One that you knew all was on the up and up and treated you with the utmost respect. Have a e-waste buyer now who does the same.. but it is a rare bird in the recycling world!

I was reading through this thread going wow...they are pretty ambitious with the pricing they want, as the aluminum spot price is only like .78 or .80 a pound right now.

Then I read the dates on the OP and went ok, this makes more sense. But even then, I think spot aluminum was about the same then wasn't it?

Am I missing something? Will the big boys pay higher than spot price for wheels, just to smelt? I didn't that was the way Alcoa operated.
