No problem to all those thanking me. Glad that at least we are all avoiding the "do not enter" sign down that road. LoL.

I think I will keep the check, frame it, and hang it on the wall. A friendly reminder to go with what I know.

I did a search on that company. They have definitely hustled many people. Sorry you got burnt. I imagine most of us on the forum has been burnt in some form. It sucks, but it's a learning lesson.

Easyrecycle on here will buy your stuff. I haven't dealt with him but he has been on the forum long enough that if he was hustling people, we would know it.

someone else on this forum told me the same thing about easyrecycle and he mentioned boardsort.com have you heard of them? I was hoping to skip the middle man and save up enough to get them refined myself, a couple thousand pounds should take me a little over a year. We replace alot of motherboards at my repair shop. 3 weeks to get the 90 pounds i wasted sending to the scammers. Do you know any real refinners? thank you

I've seen the name boardsort tossed around. No experience with them. Don't know of any refiners either.

I met Boardsort in person. Nothing against Easy and Ewasted and the other buyers on the board. We loaded up the truck and made a road trip with about 800 lbs and after a very prompt hour there, we had cash in hand, a detailed receipt, and a good feeling that all the work we did breaking the computers down were worth it. Almost $2100. cash.

Why don't people read the threads on here before costing themselves money?

Personally I would prefer to support someone who is active here on SMF and give vluable insight, info, and help to other members.

That's a good point. However, I get the impression the OP sent his stuff off, didn't like the price and later stumbled onto this forum.

Never ship your stuff to someone who will offer free shipping.

The reason why they offer free shipping if you have X amount of pounds is because they will take you over the road like a tumbleweed.

Reason why we do not offer free shipping = we pay very high...if its not worth you paying for the shipping then we do not want it. (your not going to send something and make nothing) On top of that if you "want" free shipping let me know and you can send me a whole box and I will dish out a few bucks lol.

I can work with you on larger loads with our pallet shipper but on small loads...there just not much room I can do.

Mechanic, I want to thank you for sharing your experience. A picture is worth a thousand words. The knowledge you and others share here is a great help to others. I want to it business with someone who makes a good profit so they will continue to be in business. Avoiding rip off companies will quicken their demise. Best to all and thanks for sharing, Mike.

As per mechanic load I would of been able to be up in the same price market with the amount he had (but still taking a guess as I do not know the weights of everything.)

As noted on our website the more weight/more items you send the better we can do on pricing.

miked sadly there are alot of companies that are out to scam you out of your money. One huge issue is...once its sent in the mail..it can be hard to proof what was in the box...what it was worth AFTER you sent it. So you need to trust the company you are sending your items to.

Our average per motherboard was 2 pounds.

Brother in law is gonna drop it off at the fedex pickup place here tomorrow and should here from them about 10 days after they receive it that I have a check in the mail.
    .98
As soon as I get the check, I will let you guys know what I got total and see if it was worth it.

For me, it will be worth it because I am sure I will get more than 6 cents per pound like the yard wanted to pay. Plus I already made about $4 total on the metal and wire off each computer I broke down.

I am awaiting email from them for some questions I sent to them, hoping that they will answer and let me know. If they say what I want them to say, I have another 30 pounds of circuit boards out of DVD/VHS/CD players as well as other electronic gadgets to ship out.

Ill be the first to admit that I should have done more research on this company beforehand. I definetly got scamed. I guess you live and learn and I sure as hell wont send any more materials off without properly check out a company beforehand. Looks like there are a couple of good outlets here on the site I will probably just use them. Going forward I have submited a compliant to the Better Business Bureau detailing the entire transaction. They do not operate as Cashforelectronicscrapusa instead there parent company is listed as CJ Environmental, Inc. A way to hide there true identity. I am still unsure how they have not been sued and shut down. The company states that the material you send in will be refine and you will recieve 82% of the amount of gold silver and copper in the form of a check at the current spot price. Thats definetly not what I recieved. I got a check that states escrap value $70 thats it no info. Almost a hundred pounds of mobo cpu and ram refined not sure what its worth, thats why I sent it off, but I know its more than $70. Tjlock you should think about submitting to the BBB maybe it will help shut down these clowns. thanks everyone

I'm not even sure that he still lurks around the forum anymore.
The only reason we went with the buyer we did, was it was about 8 hours out and back (4 each way) and we could stand there and watch as he weighed and wrote it down, that way if we got scr*wed we could just reach out and choke the living s*it out of him. We actually got paid a few dollars more than we thought cause as we were driving over the price of gold went up a little and he paid us the new price. I have no doubt the buyers you see here with their prices listed you would not have any trouble with, just send some clear concise pictures ahead of time and they'll do their best to price the stuff based on weight before you ever send it out.
Here was a little of what we took with us,,
