Sweet jesus, can you please break that up into paragraphs?

Also Atlantic please do an intro so we get to know you. What you have written is very interesting to me since I live up the road from those people. Thank you, Mike.
I called the 123 precious metal refining recommended by Atlantic. It was a quick conversation since I didn't want to waste their time. I only have about 100 lbs of computer material on hand.
As I understand it: 2000lb mimum to make a run with 80% gold, 70% siver, and 70%(?) pallidium return. They will buy lesser amounts. I did not discuss just how small of an amount I would be able to take in. He did say he wanted everything complete in the computer not seperated out.(this seems to be very different from other buyers) And they pay $4-5/lb for that material. It might be worth the trip to see them in person. Mike.
Yea, I think I might just take a ride down the road with some of my e-scrap and see what they say face to face. If I do I will take notes and report back. Mike.
I wish I would have know that before I tore down all those servers I picked up...hell, the cases alone were 10lb. - 15lb. That can't be right...that comes out to around $100 -$200 per server. Unless they plan on just paying you for the board weight and keeping the rest for themselves.
$4-5/lb for complete computers would be around $100/computer. I've seen an ewaste company list 40,000lbs of computers monthly for $.50/lb... I'd sell my left nut to come up with the $20k to buy them and resell for 8-10x the amount...
What I believe the guy was trying to say is he wanted all the good stuff out of a computer, mother board, pci, cpu and that he would pay $4-5/lb. I intend to go there tomorrow, 123 precious metal refinery in Wilmington, NC. I will take some of my e material and see what's what, Mike.
I sent them an email with no reponse. let us know what you come up with miked.
The BBB shows them having a lot of complaints, but they still give them an A rating

Dealing with refineries is a tough gig .I can certainly understand why all of you want to get the most money for your material. We have been doing this for 7 years, god only knows the money we got burned on. The learning curve is painful, very costly. There are no guarantees and NO TWO lots will EVER run the same... that is a key factor to remember here. It takes alot of analytical/trends information to make decision on what material goes with which lot... we run dozes of internal "grades" of boards. This is a proprietary process that evolves every quarter but is necessary to stay in business.
I think most of you will be sadly let down by many of these refineries promising the world and returning 30% of your expectations. At the end of the day, these refineries are in business to make money. Once they pay you for your lot (always conservative) the rest of the material is sent to another refinery that specializes in processing that particular material.
