At my yard they are but other yards in Denver vary. I have a car on my trailer now if it would just stop raining long enough to process it.

We have places here that will take a "full car" That means: It is UNTOUCHED: That means Wheels, Tires, CONVERTER, Battery. Basically you take NOTHING off the vehicle. They pay $425 flat for a COMPLETE car.

We also have scrap yards that will pay in scale: Meaning: One of my yards will pay me $220/ton for a vehicle- AS LONG AS IT HAS ENGINE AND TRANNY, if they are gone- or either one or the other is gone- it is $175/ton. So when I run cars into this particular yard I can cut the cat off, take the AC Pump, or radiator, or rims- basically anything off that I want- as long as I leave the engine block and tranny and I get paid the $220/ton.
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!

Thats what im saying. We are both within an hour of the city. Maybe a bit more to the steel places in hamilton. I dont understand

Yeah seems like it is all over the us now that if you take off you wheels converter and a few other things they give you cheaper prices which i think is bs.
Where i go i get $245 per ton was supposed to have went down $10 but never did.

$155.00/ metric tonne for shred in Hamilton. Gas and time would probably eat up the difference in price.

Non-ferrous prices are pretty good though (compared with Ottawa). I'll probably take some copper with me next time I go down there.

its funny you mention the CVOR, i got pulled over last week, i went across town to get a small residential freezer then to go get a coffee. couple blocks away i got pulled over. she asked to see my log book and where my annual sticker was. i told her i didn't need one long as i was under 3700lbs on my trailer and truck was empty. she added up the "gross weight" of the truck and trailer and said i was way over i needed a cvor. i said why are you adding the gross weight of each that doesn't make sense, its the net registered weight and if the trailer is under 7300lbs the trailer weight, where tires touch the ground isn't to be added to the weight of the truck. just the tongue weight is. she was a idiot and gave me two tickets for not having a cvor. one for the truck and one for the trailer. i asked her for a warning and she said no not when it comes to safety lol,....safety my @ss all it took was 110 bucks at the MTO to get my registered weight changed. i should of received a ticket for not having my net registered weight high enough, not a ticket for not having a cvor. they didn't even weight me. now i have to go to court and fight these. the highest registered weight before needing a CVOR is 4499, thats what its says on my owner ship now. soon as the truck and tougne weight is over that i need a cvor. read the link below and print it off and keep it in your truck,

"where a trailer transmits to the highway a total weight of 2,800 kilograms (6,173 lb.) or less, that weight shall not be included in determining registered gross weight".

Some guy in a dump truck killed a kid in a school zone, down in the city somewhere (Toronto) so anything with a trailer or a comerical trucks been being pulled over. we just had or fall fair last weekend, theyve been bugging all the farm boys taking in. their derby cars
I love the way rookie cops look at you when you ask them if they're f##ckin high! they're all a bunch of peacocks, pooped collard roid junkies.

Frig man you got me all riled up now. That's the difference about cops and MPs, mps get normally get that cocky peacock crap drilled out of them in basic.

it's somewhat reassuring to know that we aren't the only ones who suffer under moronic government

aside from that, Zack's Research is saying that the overcapacity continues, and there won't be any significant upward movement in steel pricing until demand improves and the Euro debt crisis is lessened.

which, if you read it twice, isn't really committing to anything. Personally I'm expecting slooowww upward movement, and a trend line like if you tip a cookie sheet just so slightly. In other words, fairly flat.
