If I didn't have bad luck, I'd have no luck at all...

I use to think that too. But after getting to know a local trooper on the personal level I realized they are people too and are much more likely to send you off with a warning if your decent to them. I'm not saying you can't disagree with them but I would advise to do so in a polite manner. Being professional means just as much when dealing with the cops as a customer.

150 for me
Snagged $230/ton yesterday. If the mill orders are getting cut at the end of the month.. the yards are unaware. Here is hoping for a prosperous Q4 for us ALL!!
I'm so into scrapping.. When my Steel Toe Boots Wear out, I cut the Steel out of them and recycle the Toe!
Sure hope it improves. Been 140 here for a while. And i dont think iv ever seen it at 230 up here since iv been scrappin!
Still 140 as of today. Cant wait for tueaday, lets see what october brings.
still 140/150 down here as well
245 here but they said it may go down $10 or so
Thats crazy lol
last time I checked I was getting between 150 and 180 depending on the yard
dow keeps bouncing off 15,000 so im looking for precious metals to go up and shred to go down when the market breaks, theres no demand as consumers are still cautious and there is no construction boom / recovery
ive seen firsthand craigslist and ebay sales for used items are almost nonexistant other than demand for auto parts, when demand for secondhand items dries up the market is really really bad, we need a construction or military boom to increase prices and i dont see that happening anytime soon, stay thirsty my friends
I buy and sell all types of scrap and escrap. I buy specialty and hard to sell escrap. I buy resale items. PM me or contact me at jghilino@hotmail.com
I AM ACTIVELY BUYING ESCRAP OF ALL TYPES. BOARDS, RAM, CPUS AND MUCH MORE
I dont get it, if theres no demand, why are people still getting 200+ per ton? Im an hour and a half away from Hamilton (big time steel city) so im not far at all from the big buyers. I just keep seeing and hearing "no demand, nobody buying" but see others still gettin 200+ per.
I cannot for the life of me figure out why in The Midwest prices are nice and healthy and in other parts of the US they are what I would consider low. Since you and others are in Canada, it may very well be that your exports are not in such high demand for some odd reason.. Steel is steel- whether crushed in the US or Canada. I still scratch my head at the state to state difference in steel prices here in the US.
But it falls in line, I pay $3.15 for gas in Indiana currently, while in California I think they are up around $4.00 a gallon- same gas, same company- .85 cent difference or so. They say supply and demand prices everything, but people here are just as needy to get to work as they are in California, so I'm never sure why there is such a variance.
hey jordo i replied to you in my thread
Yeah plus we are buy chicago which is a huge steel city in exporting and such.Sledge i was up there friday buy forgot to let you know lol.
Gas is the biggest scam out there. Look at it this way. A station buys a load of fuel for say, 3 bucks a gallon. two days later, the price goes up. so that station that just bought the load of fuel for 3/gallin puts their prices up to as if they bought it for 3.50/gallon. They bought the fuel at the lower price, so theres no need for it to fluctuate so dramatically. Its a rip off. The killer is that theres nothing anyone can do about it. I think steel and gas a very much alike.
For the record im paying close to 5 bucks a gallon up here. 1.32 per liter.
