How do you make the most money scrapping?

Do you guys make more money scrapping and recycling metal, or do you make more money reselling trash items you find and listing them on the internet? I know you guys are reselling metals on the internet, but no one here is talking about other items besides metal.

Here are some trash items I found today on peoples curbs:

a WindTunnel vacuum in perfectly good condition and still works(had to fix the wires). Resellable?
A used teachers guide to preschooling children. Resellable for 5 or 6 bucks?
A perfectly good cd , orchestra music(10 bucks worth? Resellable?)
5 pound bird feed bag that was half used

I also found some scrap steel, a couple motors with copper in it.

There's actually plenty of conversation here about non-metals and selling.

So what you are saying is that its not just wood, glass, metal, plastic and cardboard that people are reselling, but people are reselling

trash items like used electronics, used books, dvds, suitcases, clothing, etc?

what sells around here at least for me is computers (desktops/laptops).......They must be newer and able to support modern software and have a fair amount of memory.......Granted I am not pulling these out of the trash but good parts can still be found in computers that others have turned into the scrap yards

Vacuum cleaners are the best. Seem to be available in abundance and 1/2 + seem to work just fine. I sell them at garage sells for $15 and up all day long. Strollers also seem to do well. Shoot, any half-way decent baby and kids stuff seems to do well for that matter.

net work as much as you can....i go to yard sales , auctions , and flea markets all summer long...i talk to anyone and everyone...not just about scrap...find out what people do.....find out what they sale, what they buy,,,and if they have waste they need hauled off....get business cards...get business cards....the bigger a circle you have the more money you can make...try and get as many outlets as you possibly can for different items...once i find out something new i can make money from i just start another pile....

at least that is how i do it...it has worked good for me so far...ps...GET BUSINESS CARDS... one more thing ... GET BUSINESS CARDS

Yes, baby items sell well. People are always looking for good deals on baby cloths and there seems to be alot of them arond if you keep an eye out for them. Babies grow out of their cloths before the cloths waer out.

You never know what gems you can find while curb shopping/scrapping/buying and reselling.
I only just started scrapping a month or so ago but still have lucked out on some pretty interesting finds.
My recommendation while getting your hands on something new, is to DO YOUR RESEARCH! You are already here on this forum trying to find answers for questions that have crossed your mind. If you find something and know nothing about it, google what it is you found.

    For Example.
A gentleman posted up a ad in the Free section on craigslist in my area saying that he has some old yard art that the previous owner had left behind when he moved out. All the items were metal and one of them was an old car door.
I text him and told him I was able to pick it up that day and drove to meet him. I picked it all up and the guy even asked what I was going to do with the metal. I told him I would probably scrap most of it if I couldn't find a use for it. He said he had something else for me since I was going to scrap it. He gave me mountain bike that he said he gave up on and had no use for it. I was happy to accept it.
Later that night I went home and did some research on the old car door that I had been given, and was able to find out that it belonged to an old 1940's pickup truck.
Though it was a little rusted, it was still in pretty decent condition. So I took it to a little restoration shop that is down the street from my house and the guy offered me $20 bucks for it.
Pretty good for something that was given to me for free.

So my suggestion is to always do research on something you are not sure about scrapping. Always know what is in your inventory and find a way to cash it in. It's a scrappers must.
