hi all, could someone give me some advise on shipping freight? i am getting enough scrap computers and flat monitors to be able to ship a gaylord at a time but have never done this. to add to the problem i am working out of my shed at home, do not have a pallet jack or forklift or an area where i could use one. soooooo, how would i get a gaylord shipped to one of (if not the) main buyer here?
I used to put the gaylord in the back of my truck and then fill it. The freight company has a forklift to get it out. Don't forget to put a pallet under it before you load it!

I've done 1 freight shipment to . Like you, I don't have a pallet jack or fork truck. I filled multiple boxes and stacked them on a pallet until I had enough. I was able to place the individual boxes and the pallet in my truck and drive to the nearest terminal of the company that uses. Once there, I restacked the boxes and wrapped them in plastic wrap. The guy from the shipping company was nice enough to use their wrap and even gave me the rest of the roll. This was even after I told him I had an unopened box in the truck. Hope this helps you. By going freight, my shipping costs were 50% or less than that of a box thru Fed Ex account.

I also have moved to pallet loads and my buyer assists with arranging the shipping. I have to fill boxes and then build the pallet on the freight company's dock. They can't get a forklift down to my pick up truck. My shipping is costs are half or a little less. Mike

When you're shipping freight there are always multiple competitors trying to get your business by offering better deals than the previous. It only makes sense to shop around and get the best price.
