Suggestion for a new section to the forums

I would like to suggest a new section of the forum, perhaps reviewed by paid members only so it keeps up with the rules and avoids abuse. This section would include pure reviews for each company and for a chance for companies to respond back and what not. You can also put reviews for companies that are not advertised here. The inspiration for this idea was based on the fact that there is a company that claims they pay the most, but from a lot of reviews have ripped off a lot of people. I almost became a victim to it and that is why I want there to be a location where reviews for any company that we have dealt with is posted there. Tell me what you think.

This is a public forum you just cannot slander any one or any thing in the U.S. There are always two sides to a story and then the truth.proceed with caution with who ever you send anything to.

It is not about slandering, rather they are reviews whether they are positive or negative. Also they can be subjected towards any business dealing with scrap around the world. This is to prevent victimization of honest scrappers from sending their scrap off to people that are well known scammers. I don't see why anyone would be against that, but I guess everyone has their opinion.

when dealing with newer members who offer to buy I usually require them to pre-pay via pay pal.......the few scammers who were here seemed to have been ran off............I usually stick with the ones I know Ewasted, ParttimeScrapper philly buyer to name a few...........

Look into the iTrader app that they use on other forums....


Greatlakes4x4.com has used these to great success. Buyer and seller ratings. Easy to tell if someone is good to work with or not.

Interesting proposition. I'm sure admin is watching this thread for ideas but it may require a rule change as currently reviews can only be for members in the Buyers and Sellers forum and based on actual transactions. From the rules:

Posting Reviews for SCRAP BUYERS - Reviews should ONLY be posted on the buyer or sellers advertisement thread itself, if they have one on the forum. Forum advertising, and reviews for members who advertise here, are ONLY to be posted in the paid thread which the buyer or seller has posted. Any buyer or seller reviews posted on the main forum will be deleted.

My suggestion is to use only members of this forum to either buy or sell. Their success or failure on this forum IS a review. Scammers and spammers don't last long here.

I have bought and sold to several different members and have never been ripped off. We all have snafus for what ever res ion. We try new things and some times they just plain don't work out. Growing a new business is much like walking a tight rope, one slight miss step can be crippling to a new c, even fatal Have I been disappointing, yes, have I been screwed, no, never, by a forum member.
