Stephan - well after typing a too long response to you it all disappeared. Probably for the best.

There will be events in your life that utterly change you. Hopefully there won't be many of these, but they will come.

Most people will eventually disappoint or betray you. God is the one sure constant who won't as you navigate through this. Place your trust where it needs to be.

    Hope you heal quickly, friend.

    Stephan,

Sorry to hear about the recent hard times. I'm confident that you'll bounce back soon enough, just a matter of time. Anyone that was bold enough to start the businesses that you did is going to do just fine in this world.

As for the scrap electronics world, the easy money has long sailed. I don't think anyone is going to boom doing the same thing that everyone else has now duplicated. I'm not sure what/where the next big thing is, but motherboards likely aren't it.

Good luck man. Chin up, you had a hell of a run.

I read your blog yesterday and I can't believe the outcome. The only good thing that has stuck with me since I've read this is family. Through and through your family (your brothers) is still there helping you. Everything is gone. The tools, the money, contacts and friends. Except your family.

Part of me starting Easy Recycle was just due to the fact that I felt like unemployment was bull ****, they wanted me to fill out a ton of paper work, go there once a week to file this stack of paper work showing that I was applying for jobs and go to this and that class...I got up and told them to keep my unemployment check and walked out. I started at first just to make some side money as I waiting to hired on another job, that never happened tho.

Yea last year before Kevin did me the way he had, I was working on starting another company but the money I was going to use to do that is gone..But e-waste is still a profit making business but not like it was before and right now there are two types of recyclers from my point of view, the ones who care about getting the most money for the scrap, and the ones who make sure that all items are recycled the right way. As long as those who sell to the highest bidder and not make sure its being recycled right..will be able to out bid me on most jobs and that's because I have a high standard for my products...makes it easy for me to sleep at night but very hard on my wallet.

Rolly, i'm only 24 and some may say I don't know much in life but I will say there is only one thing that matters. That is family, Everything I have done is for my family and to my further family that I don't yet have. I want to make sure that once I have kids that I am able to spend time with them, be able to give them the world and have them become the man/women that my mother an father made me. I remeber when my father had to leave town to work after 911 and I was the "man" in the house, an how much I missed my father. I want to try to prevent my kids from having to grow up in that kind of family living.

Don't know you very well although when I started out I contemplated trying to sell you some material.......Didn't work out I guess logistics or whatever.........I'm not going to sugar coat it for ya..........You basically have two options.........Rehab your body physically get off as much medication as you can (Not good for u and addictive) and get back on the saddle and start slow and don't build so big so fast OR slip deeper into depression and drug addiction and ruin your life..............I suggest the first option.......Not sure if your still on the pain killers but I thought I read you were taking them if not currently then GOOD JOB!!!!!!!!!!..........First key will be to get your body in order and the rest will fall into place...........If there is anything I can do feel free to PM me as I have been on the streets, strung out on dope and digging thru trash everyday just so I could get enough cans for a beer and some rolling tobacco ...........GOOD LUCK AND WISH YOU WELL

Mike, I am doing therapy and trying to get back to 100% and still on pain killers but I am taking them as little as I can with out wanting to cry out in pain (I have done just this) But I have asked the doctor for both strong and weaker pain killers so I can take a lower dose when something over the counter is not working and pretty much "stack" them until I am able to move an some days are better than others but far a few. The doctor and me had talked about the addictive issue as he was worried, I told him not to worry as I have a no drug policy and I make sure I do not become addictive to anything other than life. I have seen drugs destroy people and families. I don't even take them every day as I don't use them to make me feel good or to remove all pain, but enough so I can walk some.

anyway...posted an update on my blog but in short, I have to close easy recycle down for now but my plan is to open it back up later when I am able to get up and move about better. I just hope that I do fall so behind in the market that I have to start that all over!

Yea, going down the addition road is a very hard one and getting out of it takes alot of will power more so than my issues if you ask me so I have to give you props for that and making your life better!

All I am doing right now is looking at my options and trying to pick them very carefully, I just hope I am working on the right path and not dig my self any deeper than I am.

    Easy,

I've been on here for a year or so, read a lot of your posts and a lot more of your archived stuff. You've been an inspiration to me and a lot of other folks who have built a business by the sweat of our brows. I have no advice but I wanted to say thank you for the advice you've given me and others like me. You'll be in my thought and my prayers man.

I read your entire blog last night. Sorry that you have had to go through this. Look on the upside of things, you created a business at the age of 20 starting from what sounds like nothing. Most 20 year olds wouldn't believe it can even be done. I'm sure you'll bounce back from your recent downfall. Life in business is a constant learning experience. You learn to guard your way of operating from almost anyone including family unfortunately. You learn to trust no one but yourself with your money, because well it's your money. Becoming a pessimist is the best when running a sole proprietorship. It sounds bad to look for the bad in people but its better for you in the long run.

Keep your head up the worst thing you can do now is give up. Take your time and make calculated moves to become even greater in the future.

"Success, real success in any endeavor demands more from an individual than most people are willing to offer, not more than they are capable of offering."

Your only mistake was that you trusted someone. Who knew? You are hereby directed NOT to give up. Keep on trucking!

Thank you and that's what I have been doing and was doing before I was attacked/injured in April. It was that and what had happened that put the last nail in the coffin as they say. From the medical bills and the server pain and the depression and stress that caused had me in a real dark time but I'm working on a new company and thats moving along very well and its something that I have wanted to do. I am sad in away since its not in the recycling market but I'm keeping Easy Recycle open for now and my plan is to reopen it once again. Right now I'm just trying to broker larger loads but with the market it where it is....that's not going over well.
