Did you have a specific model in mind? Someone on here might have an opinion that brand, good or bad. I've been debating purchasing one for a while too.
If it's less than $100. then you'll pay for it in a hurry but if your talking a $1000. then I would rethink that.
Or check out YouTube for some home made ones.

The question you have to ask your self is can you do with out it?? If every day you have the problem of having a bunch of wire it might be time to buy one, a little trick that I learned many years ago is to lay out the wire in the sun when the insulation gets hot it's much easier to strip.
its worth $164us including shipping a non generic from china

www.aliexpress.com is the web site I have been looking on.
was thinking of buy 3 sell one to get some money back keeping one here and renting one out or some sort of portable wire stripping services hook it up to a motor ......just thinking at this stage but if people here have a brand that works great and happy to share all ways happy to look and learn.
Unless you have hundreds of lbs of wire to strip then I would not buy a wire stripper. Some people use a home made stripper but I just use a box knife. I put the knife to the wire at an angle, while holding the knife still and pull the wire. This works better than holding the wire and trying to push the knife. Hope this helps.
I'd suggest a hand stripper for $10-15 first, then maybe invest in one of these...

US$164 = NZ$200. Not bad including shipping depending on the size of it.
Insulated Copper wire pays about $2.50Kg. Thats insulated wire with the clips cut off the ends.
What would be worth $25.00 with the insulation on would be worth $36-$40 after the insulation is burnt off (not always possible & a lot of trouble)
But once the insulated wires been stripped, its #1 & worth $45+ at $6.85 a Kg.
