How do you bid jobs?

So many possibilities here...from those who just want it gone to those who expect part of the profits. Let's say that you know you have a guy or two who are bidding with you. Is 50% of value of a $500-1000 load too high? What if you are just trying to give them a kickback to perhaps take over the guy who is just taking it for free?

at the very least, offer 50% of expected profit AFTER expenses such as gas, helper and any other. That is generally higher than i would offer unless there was some really good resale items or enough quanity to justify it.

I generally figure $50/beer.... Installing a microwave is a one beer job, that means $50 to install MW over the range. Install a door? Three beers=$150. Paint a large house? At least a case=$1200.

Some things don't translate well into the market, though. Mowing my yard takes at least two to three beers....

Land lease formula is used for all jobs even if they just want it gone. That is 1/3 to owner, 2/3 to the renter and the renter pays all expenses. The consistency is a big business decision because people talk and new customers know the deal before they call. The exception is tin, that is considered community service.
