    I've been HUSTLIN HUSTLIN

Ok. So maybe you read about my delays. To really move forward I need those things to fall in place. Should I let this bring my business to halt? Heck no! This has given me a chance to focus a little more on my secondary sources of revenue. Been advertising for them and getting all my ducks in a row for my online sales side of my business. I recently read an article for new business owners(even though I've been registered as a business since 2011, I haven't been able to get where I need to be for various reasons, thusly have been "laying low") that stated the word "free" must be your best friend. Let me tell you, I have been hustling like a dollar hooker needing money for baby formula and diapers! I don't like to spend money on certain types of things. My wife kept getting on me to get cleaning supplies and toiletries for the office. I don't want to use my business funds for crap like that so I waited till I picked up a cleanout gig and scored $150 worth of cleaning supplies from that one house. Scored trash bags out the wazoo. Scored an awesome start to the amazon part of my biz. Scored a lot of tools for the shop. It was awesome. Then the wifey says "you need to look into getting some carts for the warehouse so you don't have to keep carrying little amounts around". $100-$300 for a cart......no way Jose! Even looking for used ones made me ill! Lol. Tonight I found out that the Dollar General was throwing away 4 shopping carts....guess who has carts for the warehouse now! BOOYA BABY! .....it's me.... Pallets, containers, pallet sized cardboard.....free. Office chairs? Office supplies? 50 rolls of toilet paper? FREE!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Then tonight I wasn't planning on looking for scrap and told my wife I was on my way home(3 hours later I call my wife, who thankfully fell asleep, "uh, hey honey, uh so I filled the truck again...sorry I got distracted lol) but I have a touch of the ADD so I got distracted by....yep....scrap. Scored nicely tonight but the best haul was from a store close to my warehouse. I got an unopened box of industrial type latex work gloves 100 count, unopened boxes of nuts and bolts, AN UNOPENED $20 11/2 WRENCH!!! JUST THROWN AWAY! Unopened box of industrial springs I intend to try to sell to the steampunk crowd. Unopened bagS of pipe fittings, pipe elbows, connectors....unreal. I also don't like spending money on fuel from my business account since it's not really a tax write off. So I've been hustling getting that scrap steel and that's been filling up my truck. That article really inspired me. I have even been, instead of of printing off papers I need to sign then take in personally, going to their office and just asking them to print off the paperwork there and then sign lol. Then, while at the warehouse, my brother and I are doing anything we can to add value to what we have until all my equipment gets here. Upgrading all the aluminum. Cutting up the piping, parts with solder, parts without. Cleaning up some of the smaller brass bearing material to get it out of the way. Cleaning the boards of the wire and stacking them so we can hit those hard when it's time. Folks, you cannot let delays or unexpected events slow you down. You must adapt and overcome! You must drink water, drive on! Always look for ways to add value to your life, your family, your happiness, and yes even your wallet! Whether it's cutting your time doing a certain task in half or figuring out ways to work smarter , not harder. You always be hustlin!

I'm having the opposite problem (no complaints, though). Things are just winding down at my 9-5 shipping gig and so I'm worn out just from that. On top of that scrapping has exploded near me with fall cleanouts and winterizing (yes, WINTER IS COMING) and newbies and bulk vultures. So while I have been very fortunate to have the peak times available for collecting pick ups and curbco, I'm having trouble finding time to break everything down. I'd love to save a bunch of stuff for hibernation but space is an issue and I also rely on scrap $ for certain things like gas, fun $, etc. No matter what I do the side of my house and garage are a mess.

I can guarantee a lot of us have had that problem. Then if you fall behind.... You soon realize you've fallen WAAAAAAY behind! I understand about being tired. I'm disabled and if I'm working real hard I can't take a break after a certain amount of time because if I do and sit down.... That's it.... I can't walk anymore.... My legs are just not there.... Lol. 31 and I feel 60. Can't imagine what 60 will be like lol! Time to button down the hatches Admiral! You've got work to do!!

Quote to come because of these ****ed gorilla hands can't hardly use a cell phone lol!!

Hypo, well played my friend. Got it all for free an didn't have to punch anyone in the face. Your getting soft in your old age.

A tip you an other may already know, who are in need of "carts". Not only shopping carts, but talk to places like bookstores who use shelving cars, with dividers. Likely not what anyone here needs unless they do books, an things of that nature. They throw these out all the time cause they get old, wheels lost, etc.

Kmart - Uses what are called 4 highs. Basically what I call a flatbed cart, with adjustable shelves. Bout 6 feet long or so. Great for transporting heavy items from one end of a shop/warehouse/etc to another.

Walmart - uses both of the above. Also some carts that resemble a janitor's cart, cept where the trash bag/can would go there is a flat bed for carrying items, with a upper "cart type bin" for smaller items/boxes. around the handle is an are that contains a cup holder(usually), a couple slots of various sizes for different items or tools. i.e. Pens, markers, ruler, hammer, bits, screw drivers, torx, sockets, paper clips, etc.

Amazon - Uses the above funky carts like Wal-mart to great degrees of success. I should know I've worked their warehouse before. lol. Loved the carts. They also used a modified shelving cart(like the book store above).

Staples/Costco/Sam's Club/Home Depot/Lowe's/etc - The flat bed carts, the carts with poles for shelves, or hanging items, lots of various carts.

anyhow..you guys likely know all this but figured I'd toss it out there. Maybe it'll help someone tho!

    Keep up the hustle Hypo!

Thanks Sir. I'll be keeping an eye out for those flat bed carts. That may be an upgrade from the shopping carts.

You really CAN find it all at Wal-Mart- A Happy Hustlin Hypo

You're welcome friend. Never give up on whatever your dreams are. All the people on here that are successful and happy with the "work" they do have one very important quality. It's perseverance. They push through every challenge and do it with a smile on their faces. Yes they hurt. Yes they are tired. But they suffer happily and only regret having to rest lol. Here's to you having a journey as great as you wish!!
