Ok. So maybe you read about my delays. To really move forward I need those things to fall in place. Should I let this bring my business to halt? Heck no! This has given me a chance to focus a little more on my secondary sources of revenue. Been advertising for them and getting all my ducks in a row for my online sales side of my business. I recently read an article for new business owners(even though I've been registered as a business since 2011, I haven't been able to get where I need to be for various reasons, thusly have been "laying low") that stated the word "free" must be your best friend. Let me tell you, I have been hustling like a dollar hooker needing money for baby formula and diapers! I don't like to spend money on certain types of things. My wife kept getting on me to get cleaning supplies and toiletries for the office. I don't want to use my business funds for crap like that so I waited till I picked up a cleanout gig and scored $150 worth of cleaning supplies from that one house. Scored trash bags out the wazoo. Scored an awesome start to the amazon part of my biz. Scored a lot of tools for the shop. It was awesome. Then the wifey says "you need to look into getting some carts for the warehouse so you don't have to keep carrying little amounts around". $100-$300 for a cart......no way Jose! Even looking for used ones made me ill! Lol. Tonight I found out that the Dollar General was throwing away 4 shopping carts....guess who has carts for the warehouse now! BOOYA BABY! .....it's me.... Pallets, containers, pallet sized cardboard.....free. Office chairs? Office supplies? 50 rolls of toilet paper? FREE!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Then tonight I wasn't planning on looking for scrap and told my wife I was on my way home(3 hours later I call my wife, who thankfully fell asleep, "uh, hey honey, uh so I filled the truck again...sorry I got distracted lol) but I have a touch of the ADD so I got distracted by....yep....scrap. Scored nicely tonight but the best haul was from a store close to my warehouse. I got an unopened box of industrial type latex work gloves 100 count, unopened boxes of nuts and bolts, AN UNOPENED $20 11/2 WRENCH!!! JUST THROWN AWAY! Unopened box of industrial springs I intend to try to sell to the steampunk crowd. Unopened bagS of pipe fittings, pipe elbows, connectors....unreal. I also don't like spending money on fuel from my business account since it's not really a tax write off. So I've been hustling getting that scrap steel and that's been filling up my truck. That article really inspired me. I have even been, instead of of printing off papers I need to sign then take in personally, going to their office and just asking them to print off the paperwork there and then sign lol. Then, while at the warehouse, my brother and I are doing anything we can to add value to what we have until all my equipment gets here. Upgrading all the aluminum. Cutting up the piping, parts with solder, parts without. Cleaning up some of the smaller brass bearing material to get it out of the way. Cleaning the boards of the wire and stacking them so we can hit those hard when it's time. Folks, you cannot let delays or unexpected events slow you down. You must adapt and overcome! You must drink water, drive on! Always look for ways to add value to your life, your family, your happiness, and yes even your wallet! Whether it's cutting your time doing a certain task in half or figuring out ways to work smarter , not harder. You always be hustlin!
Permanence, perseverance and persistence in spite of all obstacle s, discouragement s, and impossibilities: It is this, that in all things distinguishes the strong soul from the weak.
