    Canadian scrapping help.

Was wondering if there are any other scrappers in the Toronto area?
Have just started to scrap in the area and want to get some tips from scrappers in the area.
If anyone could help I will try to pay it back.

    Thanks.

Step 1. - Thaw out your scrap.

Step 2. - Take to yard.

Step 3. Run from Canadians after they read this.

Welcome to the forum. Chances are those in Toronto will be less willing to help out than the many members of this community. Grab a cold one, kick back, relax, and start searching the archives while you wait for other responses. Good luck.

Smart Azz!!! lol.... I am in BC - West of the Rockies where it never really got cold in my neck of the woods... Right now it is +8 degrees and over cast.... tommorow it will be +13 with sun/overcast mix.... that's about 46 and 55 respectively.

Our snow was gone at the begining of January... Heck. I have plans to go fishing the weekend of april 11/12... but I can go now as lakes are opening up

Patriot76 has it right. The advise you get from the old threads will give you a great education. Also outside of the weather differences much is the same with scraping on either side of the boarder.

Its been in the high 70's and even into the low 80's over the last couple of weeks so F or C we still win. Mike

    Pnave,

Don't pay Mr. SSaL no mind. He's been living in a (sandy) land of milk and honey and gets nice clean scrap with no ice on it! He's also still pizzed that we fobbed off Justin Bieber to the US!! Some of us Canajans are taking up a collection to ship him a big box full of live Canadian mosquitos and black flies!!

What kind of scrap are you chasing? Are you doing curbco or picking up from businesses or electronics scrap or...? Each type of scrapping has its own set of tips and tricks. As others have suggested, do a little searching on this forum site...there's a TON of experience to be gained with a little patience, reading through the older posts. For example, you'll find out early on that selling something as it is usually will get you more $ than scrapping it out into its constituent metals and taking them to the scrap yard.

Some of our members are a little crusty and expect the newbies to read up a little before asking questions. Probably not a bad idea...it helps the newbie avoid embarassing themselves with (real) dumb questions and avoids the ire of the more experienced guys, who expect a newbie to do some readin' first. just sayin'.

Good luck and hope you get off to a good start in scrappin'!!

    Jon.

Canada is to blame for releasing the pox of Satan's crotch upon us!

    Get'm!

Side note totally separate from my attempt to invade Canada with a mob armed with pitchforks an torches..: You'll find much here from your fellow Canadians an even from the likes of me at times. An to set the record straight my scrap isn't clean! It's got sand on it!

Sirscrapalot - Don't mind me, just passing through with a riot.

Celsius doesnt count. I mean its like every word with the letter "o" is said with the long vowel sound. Canada= no Fahrenheit and no short "o" sound. Next you will try saying hockey is a canadian sport

Lol.... I am about 3.5 north east of Vancouver.... It middle of Feb it got up to 68 degrees.... Our june/july/aug can average around 86 and even peak at 100-105 during the hottest parts of the summer. Winters where I am can drop to around 0 F and even down to -20 F or so with wind but they usually average around just under the freezing mark...

Oh... now for my sir scrapalot quote imitation - My dad always said - I may be dumb, but I am not stupid.

Hey. I can take a joke... We ride moose to work and keep bears as pets. We live in Igloos, say eh alot.... Plus we made world wide headlines when the world wide supply of Maple syrup was put into jeopardy because a warehouse full of it was stolen.

As for help, seriously... anyone in Ontario who can help our friend out?
