Scrap as a fund raiser

Our local high school band was needing to fund raise for new uniforms. Being a band booster I didn't want to sell Tupperware or cookie dough. We advertised and hauled scrap. Between donations and scrap hauled we raised nearly $17k. Not too shabby and scrap donations were tax deductible. Thinking outside the box and people jumped at the opportunity.
