Possible opportunity

Looking to possibly buy into or buy out existing ewaste company in my area.........I live in Knoxville Tn........I have the funds to start on my own but figured it may be easier to buy into or take over an existing facility........What I mean by facility is warehouse, scales, forklifts, loading docks etc..........I do not want to buy your small business being ran out of a storage building (that is what I'm doing)......I am sure I will be raked over the coals for this but unlike the usual spam we get from Pakistan or some other far off land I am here in the heart of the southeast and interested in any offers that may come my way

I hear ya, around here in ames iowa its so slim pickins I have wanted to expand for about 2yrs now and have yet had the way to. its a mess here as its a college town that has had over a 35percent enrollment increase in about 5yrs with no placement for these students with out stacking them 4 to a dorm room which for most is unbearable. about 10000 students plus more coming each year need housed right now to ease this pressure but because the housing bust never hit us in ames we have had no real home sales and most because of housing are just being rented out for huge prices so they make good money to rent vs. sell.

we have built so many homes over the years as this has happened in order to get familys in homes that support the students that there are very few open lots and what are open are premium priced. we have over the last 2 years knock down old businesses, smaller apartments and even whole city blocks to build mega apartment buildings and shopping areas to house and support students but that's a trick as well that's part of the mess.

not only does it take time to build these 3-8 story places but with all the building here and just regular renovations people do there is not enough construction workers in a 50mile area so some skilled workers are coming as far as texas to help build cause its short term better pay.
its like a construction duck duck goose game as these crews have to go from site to site leaving some slower builds for days on end to build others faster and back and forth like that. I have tried looking for just a decent sized home to work and when that did not come to be I looked into building but even with a cheap lot outside of town, the construction outfits just put you on a list and will call you when they have a opening to start work unless your rich already and can further the process but even then its tough to speed it up that much faster without people to build lol

If you don't find a business, start buying equipment that you will need as you see great deals come up. That's what I did, and just stored things away for a bit. By the time I got my warehouse, I had found a lot of extremely cheap equipment to start with. Once you get a warehouse, you don't have time to wait for the great deals to pop up.

Great advice..........Never know what will happen
