Non-responsive buyers

I'm in Northern California, more of an opportunist than a scrapper and I seem to run into the same problem all the time. I have good stuff to sell but no serious buyer. Right now I have sent out e-mails to several buyers that claims they are national and providing all kinds of services but I never get any response. I'm starting to think that the buyers just have too good of times right now even though the prices are low. Right now I'm sitting on more than 600 lbs of PCB:s, processors and memory from all kind of servers, pc towers and phone systems. I've sent e-mails to all known buyers in the area, e-wasted and some others but no answer at all. My local scrapyard is paying .5 dollars/lbs for any PCB and I know better not to be ripped off liked that. Is my lot too small? I was thinking the shipping would be around that 50 cents a pound anywhere in the US and according to the most sites posting put their buying prices, 60 cents is the lowest I would get for gold pin connectors. If anybody in Northern California is willing to buy the stuff from me, let me know and I would like to hear other peoples experience with the buyers today. Is it always like this. Message after message and no reply?

Have you tried buyers here at the SMF?

If someone doesn't respond to inquiries, I take that as a sign they don't give a rat's tail about their business ethics.

I personally do not make any special effort to contact individuals who are too lazy to respond ( or change their contact info ).

A good buyer from California probably less than 100 miles from you check out the scrap buyers section here!

I would understate your quantities/weights. That way when you do finder a buyer you will be a happy surprise to them. Sometimes people make the mistake of over stating what they have to get buyers attention. Then the buyer ends up feeling their time was wasted. Set up a situation that will be good for both of you.

I am sorry for not updating this earlier. I was busy getting my first shipment over to ewasted in Ohio! Everything went perfect and I got $850 for a shipment of 200 lbs. Thank you all for your help, ideas and suggestions. Working on my second shipment now.
