    Comex copper prices

Anybody else seeing the big jump in copper prices on comex today? I just looked at it is up 10.7 cents. Roughly 3 to 3.5 percent jump.

I noticed it was up. I went and turned it in before it broke $3. My yard was paying $2.58 at the time, I am ready to go turn in some more with the 10 cent jump.

I just called my yard and the guy said it was $2.80 for number 1, and 2.60 for number 2. It seems we have gotten the rise already.

My NZ$ scrap metal Copper#2 has gone up from a 'last time I sold Copper' price of NZ$5.60 to NZ$6.50 odd.

Current NZ prices, approx Scrap Metal Price, Pricelist - Metalcorp NZ
I get better prices for Ali and slightly better or the same for Copper.

(You don't want to know what I get for escrap... Maybe 33% of what you get...and 400 miles away too..)

BUT! Why did Stainless Steel jump a whopping 25% in one go?
It went from a solid two year long price of $1/Kg, to NZ$1.25/Kg..

    Have Nickel/Chrome prices gone up?
Somebody decided to double check all their metal prices?
Sudden increase in the use of Stainless Steel?
Stainless steel rats? (I just had to do that.. Lol)

    Escrap = :-0

Motherboards NZ$2.80/kg its all in Kg and NZ$, which equals US$0.75cents.

Now there's some way to convert NZ$ @ KGS into US$/Lbs.. Me dunno how.

Motherboards, one grade only, inc servers, all socket sizes. NZ$2.80
    Memory sticks NZ$6.50
    Cellphones (whole i guess) NZ$2.80
    Telecom boards NZ$1.80
CPU (all sorts I expect) NZ$8.00
    Laptops whole NZ$0.55
    Hard drives whole NZ$0.80

    3 grades of boards
Low, = Power supply's, CRT boards etc NZ$0.18
Medium = Green boards, not motherboards. NZ$4.50
High = Gold plated boards, like the edge strips from Flat screens, with chips NZ$6.00

Converting would be a two step process. NZD to USD, then Kg to pounds.
I'll tell you it isn't good for you. How is shipping to the US? Have you looked into it?

On the RAM price you listed NZD$6.50 per Kg = USD $4.67 for 2.20462 pounds = $2.118/pound
Copper, brass, and Leather. 3 of my favorite things.

That would possibly be worth international shipping if you got enough! That stuff is 15.25 a pound here from one buyer on the forum.

Note to self: open an escrap export business in NZ and get RICH!

Well I have at least 800 motherboards and all of the now cleaned down boards that went with it.
Plus the servers etc that I have got too.

I know that it would be better to ship the higher grade CPU to America, it costs NZ$50 to ship 2.5kgs to USA.

Its all inside the house and taking up lots of space, since its summer here now, I can shift it outside into a small shed I will make for it, and sort it out on the way there.
That way I get to know exactly what I have and how much it weighs, and lots of extra space inside.

What's everyone's Stainless steel prices done lately?
