I save mine up in a coffee can. When I scrap a
microwave I just dump them in the microwave and shut the door. That way they don't go flying all over the place and get spilled at the yard where they could puncture someone's tire. They come in handy sometimes when you need a bolt or screw for a project as well.
As far as shipping scrap, unless you have literally tons of it you will likely lose money shipping it. That is unless you are talking about shipping
e-waste items such as motherboards and ram etc.
