    Questions from a new guy

Ok, we all sell to scrap yards, but who do they sell to? How does a guy cut out the middle man, or do we not move enough product to even attempt to get to the top guy?

    Thanks!

Others here will chime in and tell you for sure...but I THINK the yards sell to smelters? So obviously they would be selling large amounts at a time. I'm sure someone will give a more complete answer, but I'm pretty sure that is the case.

Refineries is what you are looking for. Gaurantees for tons is what you are looking for to deal with them. That is the way I see it.

Our local yard sells to either a big Omni-source yard or to Steel Dynamics both In Ft. Wayne Ind. Steel Dynamics is a small Mini Mill. Steel Dynamics just lately has bought Omni-source so they have their own source of recycled steel.

There's always a bigger fish out there
There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer
