I sometimes run deliveries and materials for a carpenter whose brother's house is being torn down. Demolition has been delayed for two weeks so my partner and I have been going in a couple hours over the past several days grabbing everything we could.
So far we cut out all the copper, most of the wiring, central
a/c, furnace, stove, fireplace, washer/drier, hot water tank, bathtub, faucets, overhead lighting and fans, eavestrough and exterior aluminum, roof flashing and a jacuzzi tub we're going to sell on
eBay.
For insurance purposes we can't take the door or window frames until the guy comes with his backhoe to begin demolition. When that happens we'll be grabbing a 20x15 foot aluminum greenhouse frame, the garage doors and ductwork.
It's just a little bungalow, but it's been a fun adventure and I'm really hoping we find a few more of these in the next few months. I even scored a bunch of firewood and a contact for stonework and landscaping.
