thinking about fixing non running mowers too

I put an add in Craigslist, buying mowers paying $5 each running or not. i went to a ladys house she had a briggs 7hp rear self pro-propelled mower looked like never been cleaned. said it stoped working on her last year. i put air filter, gasket and filter cover for $15. cleaned it all out started right up. sold it for $85was asking $100, it was every bit worth $150 easy. as i compared it to the other mowers on C.L.

Good idea Scrappy. You should be able to get a few good ones that way. A good way to get extra money for your efforts. People get rid of mowers for the stupidest reasons. Got one a few weeks ago that the guy tried to get going and couldn't. Got it home and there wasn't a drop of gas in it. Thing looked new! It's should be an easy 100 dollar bill.

I've got six junked mowers on the pile right now. That's besides the one I pulled out for my use. After I primed it the first time, it's started first pull, every time. Last year, I junked several and sold a couple on Craig's List. Lot of people just get rid of mowers cause they're moving or bought a rider.
People may laugh at me, but that's ok. I laugh all the way to the bank.

There is plenty of metal items that people junk/trash for the littlest reasons, and yet, a little TLC and they are just fine!

Of the half dozen mowers I got this summer, all but one fired on the first pull with fresh gas, and the last just needed the gap adjusted on the plug. Got them for the price of gas (so we don't have to get in that whole "free" debate). Sold them cheap...easy flip.

Magnet Generator, please delete the link in your post - it is considered spam. I'm going this public route as, for some reason, I am unable to send you a Private Message.

    This was strike two.

I too try to see stuff on craigslist/kijiji.......... and I am a little bit sneaky when I sell items too... I spend a few minutes doing research to see what a similar item has been sold for and I price is slightly cheaper....

I've sold lawn mowers, aluminum headache rack for a pick up, and more (can't think of anything off top of my head)
