It's been awhile since APA was on. My best understanding was that he was not open to buying from the general public anymore. He was only going to buy from customers that he already had an established business relationship with.

It's hard to say. There have been a lot of changes in the law over the past few years. The company that i always sold to in the past was a reputable metals recycling outfit with over 100 locations in the U.S & Canada. One of their locations got jammed up on the technicalities and had it's entire inventory of scrap cats seized by the court.

A number of states seem to be going a bit overboard with the whole catalytic converter thing lately.

I figured it might be helpful to post this. It gives one a sense of the changes going on in the catalytic converter recycling industry.

It's the same problem here Mike. I occasionally run into a cat on the metal pile at work. It's all perfectly legit but i can't sell them because there's no documentation. The youtube video was saying that cat sales are way off.

The assumption was it was that way because so many were stolen. I don't believe that is the truth of the matter. The lawmakers don't understand how most of the scrapping gets done. They wouldn't know a cat from a rhinoceros.
