According to Iron Mike Scrap Metal...

"Welcome to Iron Mike Scrap Metal Services. Monday August 1st. 2011. HANG ON. U.S. default will drive all metals higher!"

Speaking of Iron Mike, has anyone dealt with this outfit?

I can't be certain but I think this company may have been the one that tried to hustle me a few years ago. Unfortunately I didn't keep their card, but I recall it looked similar to the website layout/design and being out of MI.

Prices beat everything I have ever seen, but I am sure restrictions apply.

I am sure that we will not have a default. We are just going to borrow more money and make it worse. However, since the dollar will be worth less, It will translate into higher prices for scrap as well as precious metals. Hang on to your butts for what this may do to the price of oil as well, as the barrel is still based on the U.S. dollar.

I have no doubt we will borrow more (and without fixing the current situation, just spend that extra money). Without going on too much of a political tangent, the idiots in DC need to learn that you can not spend your way out of a hole.

The couple of trillion they are talking of saving to strike a deal is a drop in the bucket compared to what has been spent just in the last couple of years. I can't beleive we are even paying those jokers for the hack job their doing.

According to YAHOO NEWS, a deal has been struck and the president says he will sign it. Votes and signing will be Monday. To avoid any political bickering, I am closing this thread. This closing is not aimed at anyone, just to avoid any potential ...

Please don't start a new thread on the subject. Thank you.
