    Bidding on computer monitors

    Hi all,
I have an opportunity to bid on computer moniters and printers offered by a local township. Any ideas or guidelines I should keep in mind would be greatly appreciated! I dont imagine I should go more than a buck or so appiece. I hope they sell them as a lot vrs individually. I think there are 20 or so offered. Thanks for your help on everything else I have learned on this forum.

Do you have an outlet for the plastic and CRT's. ? That would be the deciding factor for me.

Plastics yes, crts not yet. There is a local glass recycler in town but not sure about crts. I have a few days so I will check into it.

Printers are very labor intensive. there is some decent stuff in them, but usually the bigger the better. Inkjets are not great. I think that 3-5 cents a pound is the most I would pay for printers. definitely no more that $0.10/lb for me. I am assuming you are asking about scrap value and not useable printers. on a side note: they are interesting to break down, you will have a new respect for engineering.

Each normal computer has about $3 in copper alone, but printers don't have much besides a circuit board and some other stuff. I don't pay more than $.15 each for them or $1.25 for each monitor.
There's nothing more fun and more effective than hitting something repeatedly with a sledgehammer
