You are spot on for the rest of your thread.

It's cool Gustavus. We all get those moments. Even me at 26.

I believe its definitively worth it to break motors down. I just did 3 motors out of microwaves and ended up wit 3.5 lbs of #2 copper and 15 lbs of steel/iron. Here in Vegas i'm getting .30 for motors .10 for iron and 3.00 for #2 copper so,

    18.5 x .3 = 5.55 if I sold them as motors
    or
    3.5 x 3.00 = 10.5
    +
    15 x .1 = 1.5 or 12.00 broken down

I made 6.45 more by breaking them down, I more than doubled my money and i'm getting a good price for motors. Also it barley takes me any time I use my grinder to cut the copper loops on one side and pull them out on the other side took me like 5 - 10 mins to do these 3

Well I learned a few new ways yesterday of finding some motors on things. I found 4 yesterday that I didn't even think at first glance was a electric motor lol.

Learn something new all the time.

I usually don't break them down..but sometimes I go after the AL cased ones. I am getting .35 from my buyer. At .1 I would break them all down no question. Aging sure has its own challenges, I am close to 50 with a lifetime of hard work under my belt/ I pick and choose my "battles" these days. Retirement? not for me...my old buddy Carl died on the job in Pueblo cutting short iron at 79. That's a good way to go in my book.
